Wearing: New Look dress, Banana Republic silk blouse via charity shop, Topshop tights, Primark brogues, cardigan, belt and ring
On: Monday 6th December
For: Jump starting the Mr’s car
I love shopping for new things, but rediscovering old favourites is just as wonderful, and far less painful on the pocket. Cait is the talented lady behind She’s Got a Passion for Fashion, and when she wore this stunning tartan dress I realised there was something similar lurking in the depths of my wardrobe.
Cait’s tartan treat was made by her own fair hand (this girl’s got mad skills!) whereas mine is a high street purchase, and although I spent a good 20 minutes prancing around Office in a similar pair of shoes, I went for simple brogues. Yes I was cold, but I fear my current parka-hat-scarf-gloves combo would ruin my style credentials for life.
Who’s inspiring you today?
PS – Have you seen what’s on offer on the Second Day of Christmas? Take a look!
Such a pretty blouse. Altogether cute cute cute!
I love the dress and the way you have teamed it with the blouse!
Love your take on her outfit 😀 I hadn’t heard of Cait’s blog before so thank you for that! Another blog to follow 😀 x
Ahh I love Cait! Such a great look jen, I love the tartan and the little blouse underneath makes it so much more wearable! x
Love that outfit, the dress looks amazing with that shirt underneath, I’d never think to do something like that xx
I’m loving the way you paired the blouse and the dress, it looks great! I’m not sure who’s inspired me, I’m just going with the flow I guess.
I love Cait’s style – and this is a great look on you too! I actually have a ton of plaid things in my wardrobe I really must get out again!

Very into tartan right now. Lusting after a million different tartan scarfs in different colours. So perfect for the weather too xx
Ooh, I do enjoy that dress! Sadly, car pushing seems to be becoming a bit of a national hobby just now. Oh dear.

Ahhh the joys of owning a car! Tartan is popping up all over the place at the moment, I am stalking a girl I keep seeing on my morning starbucks run who has an amazing tartan cape.. one day i’m going to have to ask her where it’s from!
YOU are inspiring me today jen! 🙂 this morning I had an awful time under pressure to find a full outfit in 30 mins. Really wanted a nice little dress and cardi but couldnt find anything 🙁 Can I come steal some things out of your wardrobe, please? followed your car shennanigans on twitter earlier. What are you two like eh :p xx
I love tartan and you’ve styled the dress amazingly well with that pretty blouse 🙂
Ooh, strapless dress over blouse, I like your thinking. I do love tartan, and this is a really interesting take on it – looks fab x
Have to say you are inspiring me today, I love the tartan dress with blouse underneath it. Will have to go and buy some tartan, if only my car worked…
Love that tartan dress – so cute and wintery! x
Love tartan prints – they always make me think of winter, and you have in turn reminded me to crack out a tartan dress i kinda love, and rarely wear, so the inspired by chain continues 🙂
Looks great! You’ve given me an idea to try converting a kilt I bought in a charity shop…
I love Tartan and that dress is really pretty. I’m inspired to wear something similar now as well.
The silk blouse goes really well with it as well.
