As Inspired By… the stylish heart

Posted in Blogging, Daily Outfits.

On my travels across the internet, I often come across people who inspire me – whether it’s with their style, home dΓ©cor, culinary skills or wicked wit. Sarah of the stylish heart is one of my most-recent discoveries. I love her vintage, girly, whimsical style and her obsession with that fabulous H&M hat.

Today’s outfit was inspired by Sarah’s leather and lace look.

Wearing: Republic lace dress, Steve Madden leather jacket, Topshop leggings, very.co.uk boots, Zara bag, assorted rings, H&M hat
On: Thursday 25th November (30 days ’til Christmas!)
For: Sitting hopefully at my desk, waiting for a blizzard

This Republic dress has suffered a shrinkage during washing – I wanted to wear it with black opaques but fear of indecent exposure had me reaching for leggings instead. I still think it’s probably a little thigh-skimming for work, but hey. I added the fluffy leopard print hat when I stepped outside into sub-zero temperatures – not quite as adorable as Sarah’s black boater, but it doesn’t make me look completely bald, which is a huge plus in my book.

What do you think? Have I done Sarah justice? And who’s inspiring you today?

Jen in all honesty I am feeling completely uninspired in the wardrobe dept right now πŸ™ If I went on a shopping spree tomorrow I would have no idea what to buy! This is lovely though, would love to see it with opaques and heels for a dressed up christmas night out look too! πŸ™‚ Do you still take your own pics outside with your tripod? They always look fab, I am completely useless at using mines πŸ™ xx

Jen I think you are very brave to go out in a little dress in this weather, maybe it is warmer where you are but today I was so cold even my eyes felt cold πŸ™
I do love lace with black, and thank you for letting me discover another lovely blog xx

Lovely outfit! I don’t think I would be warm enough wearing it though, I had a million layers on today and was STILL cold! Did you get the snow? We had about 2 flakes here! x

I LOVE this outfit, love it.
The hat is amazing and looks great with your hair, the jacket is great and the dress although a bit shrunken looks great.
Love it. Did I mention I love it?!

Gosh, like everyone else, I love this outfit too. You have convinced me to get a leopard beret, and after weeks of perving on your Very boots, I’m now going to see how much they cost!

How are you not freezing your pants off! It’s so cold out there! I feel you pain on the short hair hat issue… I have the same problem coupled with what my boyfriend kindly calls my pin head! Small head + not much hair = not a good hat look! You look wicked though and brownie points for scoring the hat in leopard print!

Argh! I have that same dress and mine shrunk too! I wanted to wear it to a Christmas party tonight and have realised it’s more like a top now! Leggings are a good call. I love the dress and leather jacket combo – something I hadn’t considered with mine, but will def try out! I love your blog, I think I’m addicted :).

I hate it when things mysteriously shrink in the washing. I love cream and black, it’s one of my favourite combinations, lovely outfit xx

Gorgeous Jen! Love leather jackets with girly dresses.

Ps. If i don’t want to wear leggings with a really short skirt, i usually pop a pair of hotpants underneath, so i don’t give any builders an eyeful of bum cheek!!

That hat looks lovely and cozy! I’m surprised you still didn’t freeze in leggings, they look great with the dress though!
