I felt a little like an Italian woman in mourning in this dusky get-up. I don’t usually wear head-to-toe black, but this jersey maxi dress was calling my name. It’s so easy to throw on for simple summer style, so I got one in grey too. Lovely stuff.

In other news, I went to see Hairspray the Musical at The Grand in Leeds on Saturday night. And what a fabulous night it was! There’s a preconception that the West End is the only place to see musicals, but if you can catch one of the big-scale productions on tour in your area, it’s a brilliant experience. Hairspray is one of my favourite musicals and it was SUCH fun to see it on the stage! My girls and I got our groove on and had the best time. Plenty of Pimm’s (and a couple of Cosmos) were consumed too.

Did you go out this weekend? What did you get up to? Or did you stay in and chill out? I caught a little of the Wimbledon men’s singles final on Saturday too – yay Rafa! 🙂

oh you look lovely! That dress looks so easy to wear!

I have always wanted to see Hairspray, I really want to see it in London! I love a good musical! I’m glad you had a good time 😀

I love the drss, was looking at that in store at the weekend, i really want a cheap vest style maxi to wear that i don’t mind getting stretched out. I have that hat!

The dress is lovely and very flattering unlike a lot of maxis out there. I went to Oxford and partied hard on Saturday night so Sunday was spent being lazy and watching the tennis. Did you notice Nadal’s ass, it is HUGE! So many muscles!!!

I saw that maxi dress in Primark, I love that shop! It looks lovely on you, all black is so cool sometimes! I especially love the added touch of the hat:)

Vintage Vixen

That’s a cute look, Jen, a definate departure form your usual pale shades but I’m liking it a lot.
I’m missing the footie, can’t wait for the sound of thoses vuvuzelas tomorrow.

Love that Primark maxi on you – unusual to see you in black but it looks very chic.

I made the mistake of having a few glasses of wine yesterday – oops. Now I remember why I don’t drink on Sundays! xx

I love musicals, and touring productionsw are a great way to see your favourites a bit cheaper, and when they aren’t on in London. Love your maxi dress by the way, my Max C winnings came today – they’re so lovely, thank you so much!

I LOVE hairspray. I saw it in London, but I’ve seen a few other plays/musicals in Glasgow & Edinburgh. There really is no difference!
I love your hat!! :)xx

Love the hat missy! Brightens up the outfit definitely 🙂 Glad to had an ace time out, I’ve been trying to get tickets to see The History Boys (not a show I know) locally, but so far no luck! Desperate to see it live too…

Ooh, that hat pairs so well with your maxi, Jen – love the effect of the combination…you look gorg!

It sounds like you had a fabulous weekend! I spent quite a bit of time indoors nursing the stomach flu. 🙁

Is it possible to say ‘you look a bit like a monk’ and have it come out in a good way? Because that’s what I want to do!

I had a bike picnic, which was lots of fun. We had posh cider and jam sandwiches in the park. Classy!

Oooo, I love what you’re wearing. The dress is amazing. I really love that long necklace of yours as well.

That dress is lovely. I can’t wait to see the grey one.
Even the ribbon on the hat matches perfectly with the rest of the outfit! This is a great Jen outfit x

I really, really like it! So nice to see you in black, and I’m a big fan of black with tan accessories.

This weekend I lazed around in fine style. I drove so much on holiday last week I think I just needed the rest.

Disco Goth

I love the way you’ve styled the dress, like everyone else I was surprised to see you in so much black but it looks lovely =) xx
