I’m hoping these Find it, work it posts can become a regular thing here at A Little Bird. Every so often, I go on the hunt for something specific – that perfect piece of style gold that slides effortlessly into my wardrobe and mixes with everything in there. For the first Find it, work it post, it’s this 100% silk floral dress.

My magpie eye spotted it amongst polyester smocks in a charity shop at the weekend, and of course it was love at first sight. The fluttering, flattering shape, oh-so-soft fabric and gloriously girly print had me grabbing like an eager child.

The best thing about this dress is how easy it was to style up. The colour palette coordinates perfectly with so many things I already own, so I knew I’d be able to work the look straight away. I added my much-loved Chockers boots, a simple Zara cardigan I’ve had for eons and these heavenly hyacinth tights from mytights.com. Done and dusted!

What have you found recently? And how did you work it? I’d love to know!

PS – Aren’t cherry blossoms just so beautiful? I adore them.

What a gorgeous find – you really do have an eye for hunting them out. I must declare though that that tree [i’m thinking cherry but I may be totally wrong] behind you – is just lush, the colours of them pinks – ahhh i’m glad Spring is here, colours like that make my day!

That dress is so gorgeous 🙂 I wish I could pull off coloured tights like you do – I have a pair of purple but can never find anything I think they look nice with! xxx

The dress looks lovely belted. Think my mistake is always wearing things loose, when really they could benefit from being pulled in at the waist. Great charity shop find.

Floral dresses are a personal favorite of mine, too! And I love those bright tights you paired with this one!

I love thrifting too. I found some amazing grey lace tights recently at a clearance sale and I paired them with my newest handmade dress. Check it out at my blog if you like 🙂
