This week I’m inspired by Wearing it Today. This lovely lady is Contributing Fashion Editor for one of my favourite magazines, Red. My trusty August edition tells me her name is Laura – huge apologies if I’m wrong!
Laura’s style is gorgeously grown up and fabulously chic. I love her simple separates, dressed up with statement shoes and eye-catching accessories. This outfit caught my eye – so laidback but still luxurious. Here’s my take on it…
Zara trousers, H&M tee, Primark cardi and belt, New Look sandals, Fossil bag, Zara Taylor necklace, Me and Zena ring
Haha! The last picture makes me laugh so much. I had the giggles!
Anyway. These Zara trousers were such a good buy – they go with anything and are so easy to wear. I paired them with a simple grey tee, leather accessories and my gorgeous vintage purse necklace from Zara Taylor. I do wish my labels were as impressive as Laura’s, but this high street version will have to do. Saying that, I am hideously envious of these Chanel shoes. Lucky lady.
Who or what is inspiring your style today? A fellow blogger, celebrity, cultural muse or dear friend? Or maybe you are the source of inspiration? Anyone paid you a compliment today? Asked you where your shoes were from, or how you got your hair to look so great? Share, please!
I love your inspired outfit, it’s the perfect mix of casual but chic and great for the summer! I am in completely envy of Laura’s Chanel shoes too, seriously they are AMAZING!! For me a lot of inspiration comes from fellow bloggers, I’m not one to go and copy a persons outfit but if I see someone with something I like I will try to interpret it in my own way! I’m a bit of a people watcher too, love having a nosy at different outfits etc!!
I love interior design sections of magazines for inspiration too, the colours and layers are really great for the imagination.
There is a woman at uni called Rita who always goes crazy over my random outfits when I bump into her! Crazy in a good way I think but it makes me smile =)
I just have my own rules. Black and more black.
I think Laura’s Prada necklace is horrid and you look better. The Primark cardi improves the look and I may have mentioned it but the Prada necklace is yucky.
Love this outfit rather a lot 🙂
xxxx
I have to say, I much prefer your take on the outfit! It’s got that bit of quirk that I feel Laura’s is lacking (although I know a lot of people but into the “less is more” rule, i most certainly am not one of them)
And who needs designer labels? Isn’t it much more fun to say “Oh I picked it up second hand for £2” than to say “It’s Prada, darling!”?
And if you’re secretly after a bit of outfit envy from your friends, sometimes a fantastic bargain gets you just the right amount of green-eyed comments like “Oh, wow, you have such great taste and such an eye for a bargain!” instead of the more spiteful “Well we can’t ALL afford designer looks”.
I dunno, maybe that’s just me!
I love how your outfit is just as amazing (if not better – the cardi is a really nice touch & the tan belt just completes it) but high street & therefore more affordable 😀
I love your ‘inspired by’ posts! This outfit is wonderful, you always look so stylish! I wonder what you wear when you are lounging around at home, I bet you still look super stylish! hehe x
Love your bag! x
Great post and I prefer your outfit if I’m honest, Jen. Loving the smiley face, gorgeous girl, is that the relief of knowing that horrible commuter lifestyle is nearly a distant memory?
Funnily enough I was planning similiar post featuring H-Bomb Helen, the girl on my blog header.

Fab pictures, especially the last one! I’m coveting the Chanel shoes too x Today i’m not channeling anyone, currently in my comfiest pj’s! xx
Love those Zara trews – perfect colour and so versatile. I got compliments from a couple of colleagues today on a £14.99 H&M dress I was wearing. Was quite chuffed that people thought it was nice and not just a wee cheapo thing. xx

Love this outfit Jen! I don’t think my outfit today is particularly inspired. I spent my Sunday doing things at home, so I needed something comfy – opted for beige Zara crops and quite a plain purple Karen Millen top – nothing really interesting except the color combination! I don’t think people really inspire me, though – I’m more inspired by clothes themselves, if that makes any sense!
