I felt a little like an Italian woman in mourning in this dusky get-up. I don’t usually wear head-to-toe black, but this jersey maxi dress was calling my name. It’s so easy to throw on for simple summer style, so I got one in grey too. Lovely stuff.

In other news, I went to see Hairspray the Musical at The Grand in Leeds on Saturday night. And what a fabulous night it was! There’s a preconception that the West End is the only place to see musicals, but if you can catch one of the big-scale productions on tour in your area, it’s a brilliant experience. Hairspray is one of my favourite musicals and it was SUCH fun to see it on the stage! My girls and I got our groove on and had the best time. Plenty of Pimm’s (and a couple of Cosmos) were consumed too.

Did you go out this weekend? What did you get up to? Or did you stay in and chill out? I caught a little of the Wimbledon men’s singles final on Saturday too – yay Rafa! 🙂

The dress is lovely and very flattering unlike a lot of maxis out there. I went to Oxford and partied hard on Saturday night so Sunday was spent being lazy and watching the tennis. Did you notice Nadal’s ass, it is HUGE! So many muscles!!!

Love that Primark maxi on you – unusual to see you in black but it looks very chic.

I made the mistake of having a few glasses of wine yesterday – oops. Now I remember why I don’t drink on Sundays! xx

I love musicals, and touring productionsw are a great way to see your favourites a bit cheaper, and when they aren’t on in London. Love your maxi dress by the way, my Max C winnings came today – they’re so lovely, thank you so much!

I LOVE hairspray. I saw it in London, but I’ve seen a few other plays/musicals in Glasgow & Edinburgh. There really is no difference!
I love your hat!! :)xx

Love the hat missy! Brightens up the outfit definitely 🙂 Glad to had an ace time out, I’ve been trying to get tickets to see The History Boys (not a show I know) locally, but so far no luck! Desperate to see it live too…

Ooh, that hat pairs so well with your maxi, Jen – love the effect of the combination…you look gorg!

It sounds like you had a fabulous weekend! I spent quite a bit of time indoors nursing the stomach flu. 🙁

Is it possible to say ‘you look a bit like a monk’ and have it come out in a good way? Because that’s what I want to do!

I had a bike picnic, which was lots of fun. We had posh cider and jam sandwiches in the park. Classy!

That dress is lovely. I can’t wait to see the grey one.
Even the ribbon on the hat matches perfectly with the rest of the outfit! This is a great Jen outfit x

I really, really like it! So nice to see you in black, and I’m a big fan of black with tan accessories.

This weekend I lazed around in fine style. I drove so much on holiday last week I think I just needed the rest.
