Sunday Smile #18

Posted in Home, Second Hand Shopping.

Dear friends – is it really that time again? Phew, it’s flying past. That first awkward week of my new job is done and dusted, the Mr is finally sorting out the spare room and Leeds Festival is just 6 days away – hooray!

There’s plenty to smile about in the Little Bird household today – take a look!

I love pretty, girly, quirky bits like this oriental fan as home decor. I picked this beauty up at today’s car boot for just 10p.

I saw this print on one of my favourite blogs, Jen Loves Kev and knew I had to have it. It’s by Pearl & Marmalade.

Photobucket
I spied this domed glass jar in my favourite charity shop. For just £1, I bought it to keep cotton wool balls in but think these marshmallows look (and taste) much better!

Photobucket
You know I can’t resist a stripe! This Topshop cardigan was a booty bargain at just £1.

I have a continuing love affair with Moulin Rogue, so when I saw this book of posters for 50p I had to have it. There are 5 in the pack (one must’ve been particularly loved by the seller), including the front cover Moulin Rogue design and the famous Chat Noire print.

A lovely little watch with gold face and leather strap for just £2? Yes please.

And finally, lots of lovely dresses in pretty prints. L-R Zara, Topshop, H&M, Topshop.

I also picked up an adorable floral silk camisole, a cream silk blouse with Peter Pan collar and yet another tea dress. All in all, a fantastically thrifty weekend. Now it’s your turn – tell me, how have you spent your weekend?

Wow check out those bargains! You got some great things there – definitely lots to smile about 🙂

That fan is simply gorgeous, I can’t believe it was only 10p – that’s just crazy!

I’ve just realised that I had something to say about literally each item, which would make this a VERY long comment – so I won’t!

I haven’t done a huge amount at all this weekend – which has actually been quite nice.
I did however place a bumper order from the Tesco Clothing website last night, including those amazing silk trousers I first spotted here on you – so thanks! So I’m smiling in anticipation at receiving that order 🙂

Oh & my dinner made me smile big time last night – after weeks/months/God knows how long/TOO long of trying to eat salads etc, I treated myself last night to fish & chips from the chippie – simply amazing. Definitely made me smile!

This is a really random comment, do apologise..I appear to be in a totally rambly mood!

That watch! I think I used to have one exactly like that, does the sky turn to a sun in the day, and stars at night?!
Love the fan and the posters are fab, love Moulin Rouge to.

Jen, you’re going to have to tell me which car boot sale it is you go to. I’ve never been to one but you do so amazingly well week after week. Love the marshmallow holder! xx

Such pretty dresses!
I’ve never ever been to a car boot sale – how bad is that?! Been talking to my boyfriend about how we should go to one, as I have a load of stuff I could do with selling! He said we can, but I highly doubt he’ll want to get up that early..!

I’ve been hunting out bargains and freebies this weekend too.

Bought a lovely bentwood, rush seat rocking chair for £20 at my local second-hand shop. Got the usual ‘where are we going to put that?’ looks from the old man, but talked him round by telling him it would be a perfect nursing chair for our next little ‘un! Cunning huh?

Got a cute nurses dressing up outfit for my little girl from the charity shop for a quid, but not wishing to gender stereotype, she’s decided she is a doctor in it and has spent most of the day lunging at me with a plastic stethoscope :0)

Spent today picking wild plums. Got baskets and baskets of them so tomorrow will be another jam making day – jam will go in the jars I won on a twitter comp, which arrived on Saturday! Hoorary x

Oh, I just adore the little glass jar with the marshmallows inside! They really prettify one’s house, I might steal this idea when I have my own home:)
