I love jeans. Have you noticed? They’ve been a must-have in my wardrobe for many years, and I’ve been searching for the perfect fit since the start of our romance. I worked for Levi’s when I was younger and learned a lot about denim, but that elusive pair always evaded me.

I like a high waist, faded wash and super skinny ankle. They’ve got to be tight, keep their shape and withstand days of wear… I tend to wear them for long periods of time without washing (is that disgusting?! Oh well).

At the moment I’m loving Topshop’s Kristen High Waist Jeans – they’re perfect for balancing loose tops and chunky knitwear, look great with flats, heels and boots and they’re so comfortable, too. But after months of constant wear, I’m on the look out for a first date with different denims (when I’ve completed my 30 for 30 challenge, of course!). Any recommendations, dear readers?

Do you have a favourite denim brand?

PS – The gorgeous Max C stripy top I’m wearing is a real favourite of mine, and because the folks at Max C are so very generous, they’ve created a special deal just for Little Bird readers! If you spend over £50 on the Max C website you’ll get this top free! And if that wasn’t enough, there’s also 20% off all orders when you use the code 5174570G at the check out. Both offers end on 18th Feb, so be quick.

I often wear my jeans for days without washing too so we can be skanky together haha! I find that jeans just tend to fit better after they have been worn. I can hardly breathe after they have been washed!
I love that stripy top.

the jeans looks gorgeous and are so flattering. I have tones of jeans but I never wear them, honestly can’t remember the last time I had any one. River island short leg are favourites of mine. I’ve only ever bought them from RI or Topshop so don’t really have much advice to give.

If you’re disgusting then so am I! Jeans are much better when they’ve been worn a few times so unless they’re whiffy or actually dirty, they don’t go in the washing bin, simple as.

I can’t get on with high waisted stuff at all; it just emphasises my very worst parts. In fact jeans shopping generally deeply depresses me. I tried on some in Next the other day and the size 14’s wouldn’t fasten. Sorry Next but I am NOT a size 16. I’ll stick to Dotty P’s £15 short skinny jeans.

I’ve been majorly obsessed with the high-waisted Emerson Made pants ever since seeing them on A Cup of Jo. High waist for me, all the way!

I love stripes and denim and oxfords together, so I’m definitely a big fan of your outfit today, too! 🙂

I absolutely love Topshop Jeans. They’re the only ones that fit me perfectly, don’t go baggy at the knee and they last me long enough too. It used to be the Jamie but I recently purchased the supersoft skinny ones (think they’re called Leigh) and they are absolutely DEVINE. I love them and can’t recommend them enough. Saying that though, they aren’t exactly denim and they’re quite thin material so not sure if everyone would think they’re worth the £36… to me though, they are, and that’s purely for the fit and feel of them! Oh, and another thing I like about them is the fact that they aren’t too low-rise. Not high waisted, but high enough to hold you in so there’s no muffin-toppin’.

I have Kristens too but in black, I dont like them as much as my last pair – cant think of the name but they have ankle zippers, but they are a nice replacement. The only problem with Topshop jeans is I find they fade quickly. I am yet to find a better brand though as I hate having to try jeans on!

I tend to stick to Dorothy Perkins for jeans but solely because they tend to fit the best.
The metallic bag is one of my faves of yours x

Gorgeous Jen! That cardi looks great on you, and I love the jeans.
Don’t think high waisted would suit me, big boobs and hips so might bulk me out.

p.s so going to take advantage of the Max C offer!

I do the same, if they aren’t disgustingly dirty, then I wear them as much as I can without washing! It also stops them fading 🙂 Love the jeans.

I have problems with jeans, my only pairs come from Primark because they make the only style and fit I like! x

The search for the holy grail of jean is a constant quest for me! I really want to get on with topshops, but I found they were skimping on the quality of their denim and after washing and iron they just seemed to give up!

I’ve moved back to Gap for the skinny’s but I want to try a more high-waist version, but they only ones Gap do in this style is with their legging style jeans and when you have hips like mine it just doesn’t work!

I have a lovely pair of J-brands that i bought in the US, but then i lost quite a bit of weight and now they are too big… a shame because the quality of them is fab!

One day… i’ll find the perfect pair! x

I’ve not worn jeans in two years and have just thrown all my old ones out, but I keep seeing you rocking the high-waisted ones so I’m tempted to go try them on! I do like high-waisted skirts and shorts so maybe those jeans will be perfect (I hope!) Love your outfit as well, and the way you wear them with brogues – very nice! xx

Is that a lace ruffle on stripes? That is the BEST idea ever. Love the tee…and everything else. My favorite jean right now is the matchstick by jcrew. I love that it’s somewhere in between skinny and straight.

I love my topshop Ella jeans from years gone by. They are all bootleg though, so I don’t often wear them now.

My best buy recently was some M & S indigo straight leg jeans. However after a wash and too much cake they I can’t face putting them on as they re arange my innereds!

Less cake needed!

Love your jeans.

The jeans look great on you. And the stripes go perfectly with them.

I’m a huge denim fan. Levi’ has always been out of my price range, but I am a huge GAP fan. They do great sales as well.

NO way Jen, we are twins! I wore that exact top in my last outfit post, but I couldn’t remember the label (I posted in my lunch break). It is one of my favourite tops, and I wore it on my first date with Mr D 🙂 x

I barely wear jeans now, but it doesn’t mean I don’t love denim! I have loads of it in my wardrobe in the form of dresses, skirts and shirts. I have two pairs of jeans but mostly they stay in my drawer, but my faves are a pair of harems I bought last year in Zara. I love your high waisted ones, I think that everytime I see them! X
