Things I look for in summer shoes:
- A comfortable heel – the low wedge is my favourite
- A colour or pattern that can be worn with anything – stripes are pretty perfect
- Added details – I think the rope ankle ties cover this off
- A budget-friendly price – £6 any good for you?
I am delighted with these adorable rope tie espadrilles from Primark. They tick all my boxes and they’re just so darn cute, they have me skipping down the street.
These beauties have more than earned their place in my Essential Summer… series. What do you think – are you a fan of the espadrille? What are you wearing on your feet this summer?

Ooh I do like those! What a bargain too. I was never a big fan of the espadrille, but now they’re really growing on me. I’ll probably have my own pair before summer is out!
They look rather pretty (: I have no idea what I’ll be wearing this year. I haven’t been shopping at all in 2011! I can’t wait to go crazy and buy my holiday wardrobe.
Ooh they’re so cute! I usually wear my brogues or converses, but I think I may have to get some cute ballet flats this year!

I like espadrilles but not sure if my short legs could cope with the ankle ties…my essential summer shoes at the moment are a pair of FitFlops but I’m on the hunt for something with a little more style…sadly a day in Westfield last week failed to produce my essential summer shoe but I’m now hoping to pick something up in the sales. Or I’ll just wear the FitFlops until October…x
I can’t believe they’re Primark. They look so pretty and definitely look like the perfect wedge. Wedges that tie above the ankle are so summery.
I’m always so wary of ‘tie up’ shoes but i love how these look on! Amazing price too!x
I’m a big fan of the espadrille but my pair from last year are in dire need of replacing so I’m on the look out for the perfect pair. I’m not sure what I’m after but I know when I see the perfect pair I’ll know it. I did see a lush pair of high heels espadrilles in Topshop which I really want but they’re pretty high so I will still need an everyday pair

I swear by Office stripy espadrilles – only £10 a pair, really comfy and last forever. My last pair only got binned after being caught in a torrential storm on holiday as they were too soggy to pack to bring home.
It’s been ages since I last wore a pair of espadrille sandals!!! I haven’t made up my mind yet though – don’t know if I’d go for them or something else.. but I really like wedges.. I have too many flat sandals (and I <3 each and every pair to bits).. We’ll see I guess 🙂 I’m very open to anything when it comes to shoes hihi…

I’m wearing Primark’s strappy ‘multi-way’ sandals, they’re just so easy to slip on… I have my H&M espadrille pumps too which are just so cute. I love summer shoes!

What a cute idea, tying them above your pants! I would have never thought of that! I actually bought a cute pair of striped espadrilles not too long ago. I plan on wearing them a lot this Summer!

My mum persuaded me to buy some cream crochet espadrilles…they are sat in my cupboard with the tags on as I’m not brave enough to wear them yet!

Ooh the stripe matching is making me happy. I would wear espadrilles, because I do really like them; however I don’t think the ankle ties that are often on them would be kind to my legs!
