SS12 Trend – Neons

Posted in Daily Outfits, Fashion.

Now before you write me off as a finicky fashion follower and slave to the establishment, let me just say – I don’t normally buy in to trends. I generally know what’s ‘in’ each season and I love to see how styles created on the catwalk filter down to the high street, but I’m not that girl dressed head-to-toe in Aztec prints (so AW11).

But from time to time, a trend will really catch my eye. For SS11 I loved colour blocking, and this year I’m all about the neons.

My camera didn’t quite capture the true colour of this dress. It’s definitely more bold, bright and beautiful  than the photos show! I love to mix this shade of pink with neon orange – the gorgeous Next bag is a perfect example of how well they work together. Add in a dash of bright yellow and some simple black ankle boots and you have yourself a deal.

Which SS12 trends do you want in your wardrobe? Are you a fan of neons?

That dress is so unusual, for a second I thought you were being all fashion forward (slash fashion backward?) and were wearing it back to front! Its so awesome, can’t believe its a charity shop find! You always seem to find the best stuff, some skills you have there!

I think I will only be wearing neons on my nails, not quite brave enough! I prefer my primary colours. Love this on you though, can’t believe that shop is a charity shop find. Fab.

the charity shops in Leeds seem incredible, how on earth do you get such great finds? even after months of working for Oxfam all i came away with was an embellished asos jacket for £9.99!

Neons scare me, I don’t think I can pull them off. I really like the 1920s style that’s emerging, that and pastels are the trends I’ll be trying 🙂

Can’t believe you found that lovely dress in a charity shop! I’m not nearly brave enough to wear head to toe neon, but I’ll definitely be adding a little splash of neon from time to time x

I really like neons – ASOS have neon simple tees, and as a t-shirt enthusiast, I may have to order one! River Island have a super cute neon pink jumper with stripey sleeves that I featured in my last post, it’s adorable and reminds me of the things I used to wear when I was ten years old (it’s rare I say that with a smile on my face!)

I love colour blocking too! This dress is sweet, it’s nice to FINALLY see some colour being injected into the high street after months of wintery darks. I’m not sure about neons (though you deffo pull it off), but pastels are more my thing! Hankering after some candy jeans! 🙂 ♥ Claire @ Jazzpad

That dress is a complete charity shop gem! I really like the orange/pink combination. You should wear that colour more often, it looks lovely on you.

Hey Jen love the outfit, personally I generally stick to neon accents in the summer like a handbag or nails etc. I may be a bit more adventurous this year.

and *ahem* yes I am that girl dressed head to toe in aztec print :/ but I cant help it, it’s engrained into my fashion brain! I love aztec and navajo prints, it’s ok that you don’t though *sniff*

Can’t believe that dress is charity shop! It’s amazing.
Love the accessories with it, I’m not mad keen on neons but a few touches here and there would work for me I think.

I am the same way! I’m not big on trends, but the occasional one catches my eye. I too adore neon! I actually just painted my nails bright yellow, which I may regret tomorrow…anyways, that colour of pink is lovely and looks great on you! Perfect for spring!
