Fashion Hall of Fame – The Printed Dress

Posted in Daily Outfits, Fashion.

I’m pulling together my Fashion Hall of Fame – a collection of pieces I wear again and again, that rescue me from those no-idea-what-to-wear mornings time after time.

My first Fashion Hall of Fame piece was the classic denim shirt, and although my second piece isn’t quite as versatile, it’s still one of my all-time favourites…

Dress c/o Matalan, Michael Kors leather jacket via TK Maxx, Cos flatforms via eBay, Cambridge satchel, F21 belt, Topshop necklace and hat, Miss Selfridge ring

This dress is so simple – it’s a cotton teadress with floral print, button detail and tie waist – and that’s probably what makes it so wearable. I’ve worn it dressed up with heels and a blazer, casual with Converse and a woolly cardigan, very similar to today’s outfit with colour block heels and more feminine with faux fur. It’s perfect for everything from lunch with the family to a night on the town and I love it.

Today’s look is a little bit 90s grunge with the flatforms, leather jacket and sheer tights. I actually wore this exact outfit last week when I was in London (Kristabel can confirm this fact, as we went for dim sum together!) and liked it so much I decided to do it all over again. Surely the sign of a truly treasured wardrobe favourite?

Have you picked out your second Fashion Hall of Fame item? What else makes your list?

I love this outfit Jen, I love your hat too. I have a thing for cute dresses with black tights and leather jackets I think, you look great.
Look forward to the next piece in this series! 🙂

Love your new hair, i’ve been away for a while so just catching up on blogs now and noticed your hair is now ombre, loving it!

Your flatforms are amazing, they look really comfortable, this outfit is really well matched, the prints, colours, textures and accessories all work so well together. Matalan have some lovely things at the moment!

I love the dress – and you have opened my eyes to Matalan being online! Which means no more whining to my bf ‘pleeeeeease can we stop at Matalan’ every time we head over to Croydon Ikea. (The answer has always been no BTW) 😉

I absolutely love this hat and the necklace is right up my street. I’ve been desperate to wear a hat out for ages now but I don’t think I’ve been blessed with a great hat wearing face/head, unfortunately! x

I absolutely love this dress, it is the first (of many) item I would steal from your wardrobe! I am a complete sucker for this shade of yellow and it is so pretty =)

I love this outfit! I think the beauty of a printed dress is that it looks so good on its own, you can go as much or as little with accessories as you want and still look good. Perfect for minimum effort days, and maximum effort days too!
