Do You Live in the UK’s Most Stylish City?

Posted in Fashion.

If you follow me on Twitter, you probably saw lots of stylishly dressed northern types popping up on my feed last week. Along with a team of bloggers across the country, I’ve been working with Grazia magazine during Street Fashion Week to find the UK’s most stylish city, and last week I hit the streets of my hometown (Leeds) to snap signs of sartorial brilliance. Here are some of my favourite looks:

Loved Amy’s amazing Topshop jacket. She’s inspired me to dig out my Disco Pants and give them another whirl!

Claire runs ace vintage shop Mad Elizabeth in the Corn Exchange in Leeds – what an awesome backdrop for her vintage and eBayed outfit! Cute hat, too.

Sally’s got serious skillz – she MADE this gorgeous checked poncho with her OWN TWO HANDS. Perfect pairing with the navy Cons sneaks, too.

Lovely, lovely Elly in one of her trademark fantastical outfits. Double jackets are where it’s AT. Check out Elly’s blog for more pleasing pattern clashes.

It was great to see a sleeker look among all the vintage – I loved Esther’s All Saints trousers paired with an ASOS fisherman’s jumper. The perfect way to wear a chunky knit.

Lil’s smile just makes me happy! As does her fab H by Henry Holland floral jumpsuit, teamed with classic Cons. Converse sneakers are big in Leeds – I spotted so many pairs on the pavements! More from Lil here.

Finally, a lesson in double denim – Jordan looks great in this light wash denim jacket and dark wash jeans. Love the lipstick, too!

I loved photographing Leeds’ finest for Grazia and it was great to chat to people about the city (especially the new freshers! Welcome to Leeds!), although I did so much walking I literally could not move my legs the next day. Damn Leeds, Y U SO big?

Anyway, I’ve done my bit – now it’s your turn. To vote for Leeds as the UK’s most stylish city and be in with a chance of winning £50 Warehouse fashion vouchers and TONI&GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe styling product sets worth £50, visit the Grazia website and clickity click away. As I write this Leeds is in second place just behind Liverpool – don’t let those Liver Birds beat us Yorkshire Lasses! In the interest of fairness I should let you know you can vote for any of the cities involved, from London to Edinburgh, but come on now… it’s Leeds – right?

Let me know which city you vote for!

I’m always going to fight Manchester’s fashion corner – the people always manage to look so quirky, polished and downright fab. However – you found some seriously stylish folk. I’m LOVING Claire’s outfit, and get Sally with her super poncho – WANT ONE!
