Celebrate summer with Matalan and win £50!

Despite grey skies, rain and thunderstorms (thanks for ruining my hair, Mother Nature), it is actually British Summertime. Hooray!

In my post on the Matalan Blog today, I’ve picked my favourite swimwear essentials from the Matalan Holiday Shop to help you celebrate summer in style. My wardrobe must have for the summer is a beach maxi dress. This one in particular is gorgeous.

The reason why is because they are great for quickly slinging on and covering myself from the sun whilst still looking stylish. Another great reason, especially in my case is to use them to hide my bloated chip and ice cream body after a day at the beach!

I’d definitely go with the pintuck swimsuit you posted – it’s such a beautiful colour and I need a new swimsuit as I’m off volunteering for a month in India so bikinis are a no-go around the pool!

I’m SO not ready to reveal my body in a bikini or swimsuit yet, 9 months post pregnancy I’ve lost the baby weight but I’ve not won in the battle against flab yet, so my pick is the maxi dress linked (hopefully) above.

This is perfect for summer holidays. It’ll be great for covering up a little during the day, beautiful, floaty and light and really easy to dress up for evenings by the beach.

The way the top is fitted at the sides means it doesn’t look like a tent, as some kaftans can, if you don’t have perfect legs sticking out of the bottom. Brilliant.

My summer must-have is A PLAYSUIT! There are many reasons: it’s as easy to wear as a dress, you don’t have to worry about a breeze showing off your undies to all and sundry, and they’re usually good value for money too. I love the apple print playsuit, it’s beautiful and Matalan playsuits in general are just favourites of mine, I have a bird print one that actually has a boned bodice – amazing!
