On October 1st, 2009 one girl picked up her camera, snapped a photo of her outfit and posted it online.

Last summer I stumbled across What I Wore when browsing Modcloth. For years before, I’d been documenting my daily outfits – first in a fashion diary written in a thoroughly old-fashioned way, then on the fashion thread in the Money Saving Expert forums.
Discovering Jessica’s blog opened my eyes to a whole new world of fashion – one where it wasn’t models wearing beautiful clothes but real people, with stressful jobs, bad hair days and chipped nails. The realisation that people were actually interested in reading about the mundane yet stylish lives of others intrigued and excited me.
One year on and this blog has become my finest piece of work. I’ve always wanted to write a book but I know my limits – I’m no Jane Austen. The reason I chose copywriting over journalism is because I have a particular fondness for short, sharp prose, and blogging is the perfect format for the kind of writing I like to think I’m rather good at.
I love to write, but I love to communicate more. My readers reassure me, inspire and drive me. Every comment makes me think and the feedback is invaluable. So, dear readers, here’s to you, you and you. I hope you’ll stick around for more outfits and opinions.
