planning a trip to paris

I know it’s a cliché for any twenty-something white girl, but I love Paris. In fact, j’adore Paris. It’s been a couple of years since my last visit and I’ve finally booked another trip – in September, along with three of my best girlfriends, I’ll be in the City of Light to see Beyoncé and Jay Z’s On The Run tour at Stade de France. SCREAM.

In celebration of our upcoming trip, I wore my best Parisian outfit and pranced around singing Zou Bisou Bisou like Megan from Mad Men.

We head over the channel in early September and we’re staying in a beautiful apartment in Montmartre with a spectacular view of the Sacré-Coeur. I really want to make the most of our two days in the city, so I’d love your recommendations. Restaurants, cafés, bars, sights, museums, activities – share the things you love about Paris in the comments below and I’ll add them to my list.

Sounds like an amazing trip! You and I will be in Paris at the same time – but whilst you’re living it up, I will be dragging a sugar-high toddler around Disneyland. Want to swap?!

The restaurant La Basilic is amazing and round the corner from the Moulin Rouge. I went a few years ago and the food was simple and delicious! There’s also a crepe stand outside…

From a food and foodie point of view it has to be Angelina for hot chocolate (the best EVER) currently it is closed for renovations so I’d check nearer the time. For ice cream it’s Bertillon on Ile St Louis, I was there at the weekend and had roasted pineapple and basil, as well as raspberry and rose ice cream- amazing. My discovery of the weekend has to be the Maille the mustard ’boutique’- I’ve never seen mustard pulled from a pump before but it was a sight to behold. Shopping it has to be the Marais as well as Galerie Lafayette, and Shakespeare and co. for books. Piscine Pontoise is the most beautiful and photogenic art deco. pool near Notre Dame and La Cuisine Gourmande for a macaron making course!! I could go on but you’re only going for a couple of days!!
