A Bit about Jen

I’ve been writing things online since the late 90s, when my mum finally gave in to my pleas and installed dial-up on my PC. I signed up for MSN Messenger, opened a Live Journal account, set my desktop background as a funny picture of a cat and never looked back.

  • Making the most of our child-free Sunday afternoons (thanks grandparents, you the real ones) before we’re consumed by the feeding/changing/crying routine of a newborn. When you’re wrangling a tiny baby it feels like you’ll never have time to yourselves again, but bit by bit it gets easier to palm them off on someone else (thanks also aunties, uncles, friends and nursery staff) so you can snatch a few hours to do something nice, like go for lunch at The Ivy, or something restorative, like sit on the sofa scrolling Instagram.   • I’m quite good at clearing out unworn clothes... during my fast fashion days wardrobe turnover was at its peak, but now I try to be more considered with my purchases, and anything I haven’t worn in a year is donated to charity. Just call me Marie Kondo. This Zara dress has been a favourite for years now - I bought it before Hazel, wore it through my first pregnancy, pulled it back out when breastfeeding was done and here it is again for pregnancy #2! #jenspregnancyoutfits #23weekspregnant
  • Forever grateful to be born and raised in beautiful Yorkshire... and now I get to bring up my own children here! When I was younger there was so much pressure to move down to London, and I was tempted. But we stayed, settling 45 mins from where we grew up, with the big city and the rolling hills right on our doorstep. I can’t imagine living anywhere else... truly hashtag blessed 💛
