Sunday Smile #22

Posted in Fashion, Home, Second Hand Shopping.

A cold and rainy Sunday – perfect for sorting out my AW wardrobe. The temperature has dropped considerably this week, so I’ve gathered up floaty skirts, strappy sandals and anything that looks remotely like cheesecloth and put the lot in storage. Far from feeling sad about packing up the summer, I’ve spent the day discovering forgotten jumpers and long lost scarves. It feels especially good to take my boots out of their boxes and let my coat collection take its rightful place in my wardrobe.

I’ll be dressing for autumn from top to toe this year, so an outfit won’t be complete without a hat atop my head…

It’s been more than a year since I slid my most precious clothing cargo between tissue paper sheets for safe keeping, but now with a special wedding fast approaching it’s time for an outing…

I wore this stunning LK Bennett shift dress for my Mum’s wedding last September. This time round I’ll be pairing it with a faux fur stole and simple cream heels.

Hanging last year’s favourites back in my wardrobe for another season of whistling winds and crisp frosts has made me smile today – what about you?

You certainly are ready for the colder months aren’t you? I have a bag of scarves, gloves, woolly hats and other festive accessories a top of my wardrobe which I shall be bringing down as soon as I’m back from travelling in hotter climates. I love winter and the chance to wrap up in layers a plenty. PS Your blue dress looks stunning x

I can’t believe it’s been a year since your Mum’s wedding, time flies.
You’ve got a very neat and well organised winter wardrobe, Jen. Mine’s scary, I’ve got more winter coats and boots than days in the week. xxx

I love your autumn row of boots, especially the £1.50 cowboy boots. What a find! I’m a total autumn girl at heart, therefore all I want to do is live in boots & I’m trying to work up a killer collection. I could easily just get shot of all my heels & live in boots all the time.

I SO need to do this Jen! I love this post, looks like you are really stocked up, the coats and boots, so very different styles.
That dress is stunning; I remember you talking about it in the past and did wonder what it looked like 🙂 xx

I’ve done the same today – summer dresses, floaty skirts and strappy tops have been put away and I’ve re-discovered cardigans, scarves and tights that I’d forgotton I had.
Those hats are so fabulous! I love wearing hats but need to find one that doesn’t give me awful hat-hair! The purple dress is gorgeous too. x

I’ve been getting my boots out too. I really need to get over to my parents to get out my winter clothes too. Hopefully some will fit!
That dress is such a gorgeous colour x

Oooh. That purple is so very luscious! Beautiful.

I too am smiling about all the fall items about to come out from my wardrobe. Happy Sunday!

It’s so nice to see someone so optimistic about the upcoming cold season! I abhor winter and I’m so thankful that I’ll be in Bangladesh this winter, where it doesn’t get colder than around 18ºC.

What made me smile on Sunday: playing with my dog again, cuddling my 16 year old cousin, sleeping in my soft fluffy bed, and eating home-cooked delicious food 🙂

Nice Hat!!!! I like them!!!! but my thing about cold season is that is very difficult to be elegant and good dressed when you are frozen. I always love in movies when in winter girls wear just a thin skirt with shoes and with sheer stockings because to me that seems impossible!!! Do u have any trick to wear shoes and sheer stockings without risky of loosing your feets? And here in Lisbon the cold is not some much as there in the UK so please give me advises to continue being fashionable also in winter!!!! hehehehe

Super-well organised, Jen! I’ve pretty much given up on sorting out my seasonal wardrobe because here in the UK some autumn days are warmer than summer (and the other way round). Love the camel wide brimmed hat! xo

I don’t think I really have much summer stuff to pack up as I’m planning on just layering up my existing things. God only knows how I’m going to cram the new winter woolies into my wardrobe though! I’m having enough difficulties with trying to fit the tights back into the sock drawer…

I like your floppy hat very much, and all those coats. Oooh, I’m turning into a coataholic I think.

Haha I agree, you are so organised! It needs to be done tho, Im excited about rediscovering the cardis and boots I’d long forgotten about. Definately welcoming autumn with open arms! however when im walking 1.5 miles from the train station to work in the rain I know il curse myself for saying that xx

eek, i’m so jealous of your collection of boots and coats! i literally have two coats (which i don’t really like anymore) and my mum’s raincoat. i’m hoping to find a few coats in my local charity shops before it gets too cold, though i may treat myself to a brand new one, preferably grey or faux fur.
