I’m a huge fan of summer knitwear (yes, that’s a ‘thing’). When the weather starts to turn I find it difficult to swap my cosy jumpers for flimsy t-shirts – I need easing in. So rather than reaching straight for a strappy sundress and a bottle of Garnier Summer Body, I take it slow with a pastel knit and no coat.
No coat! In Yorkshire! It’s a summer miracle.

I’ve had this mint green chunky knit for ages, and it always gets pushed to the back of my drawers when winter descends. It was lovely to dig it out and throw it on with skinnies and heels for a relatively mild day. I teamed it with a poppy red Brit-Stitch bag (a new client of mine) and my favourite sunglasses and left all coats, hats and scarves behind. Finally!
What do you wear to ease you from winter to summer dressing? Or have you been at the Garnier Summer Body since February? You sneaky thing.
I totally agree!! This spring is turning out to be pretty cold so we still have to wear sweaters, so I usually just wear a lightweight loosely knitted sweaters. I can’t wear shorts/t-shirts yet it’s not the right time yet.
I’ve seen those bags pop up all over blogs and they’re so lovely! Look like the perfect size for a weekend bag. I need to invest in some more summer knits!
I like the Knitted sweater and the colour, perfect look for this weather.
such a lovely look, dear 🙂
That jumper and bag combo is to die for! X
Haha you’re right, I’ve always found it hard to say good bye to my beloved chunky knits once Spring is there (although there isn’t much else I miss about winter in the summer).
PS: I just found your blog and skint yet stylish fits perfectly. Glad I found it!
Ooooh, lovely … and I love your hair! 🙂
I love spring/summer knitwear, I did a post on it a couple of weeks ago actually. Love the brit stitch bag too xx

Sometimes I really wish I was able to get away with sweaters this time of year! But as I live in California, it is currently 85 degrees (in Fahrenheit) so sweaters are a thing of the past until October. 🙁
What a fab pop of colour!! Love it!!!
so brit’ i love it
Wow, that bag is gorgeous! I need to read up on this brand, I think! 🙂
I agree, summer knits are perfect transition to summer, that’s if we get a summer. I have to admit after some shots of my pale legs a few weeks ago I’ve been at the fake tan, dove is my tanner of choice!
I love the bag.
wow, brilliant sweater, like that
I love this outfit, especially the mint green and the red together!
very good outfit, with a handbag red perfect for to do a great combination
Good idea – especially when there’s still a wee nip in the air!
The mint green and pillar box red look fab together 🙂
I should really invest in a red handbag…or a coloured one,
it looks great.
I tend to go for denim shirts or blouses with a vest top underneath.
Although the bank holiday weekend just gone, ive got to admit it was scortching, and the summer dresses did come out.
Rain again tho so denim shirt and chinos is today’s choice
I have a fashion giveaway going on my blog. You can check it out here. 🙂
