The Essential Summer Skirt

Posted in Daily Outfits.

For me, summer is all about comfort, keeping cool and looking relaxed. I love that beachy, I-don’t-care-if-my-hair’s-a-mess style. When the sun starts shining, I want something I can throw on while I pretend I’m in an early episode of The OC.

Zara jersey skirt, £9.99 in polka dot, floral and plain.

I picked up the blue polka dot version of this Zara jersey skirt at the weekend, and it’s seen me through a BBQ, a night out dancing and day hanging out in the garden. It’s comfortable, easy to wear and goes with everything. I mean it – EVERYTHING. Here’s how I wore it for a lazy Bank Holiday Monday wandering around our local area…

I want to try it with a crisp white shirt and blazer for work, and over a bikini as a quick beach cover-up. I love it and know I’ll be wearing it all summer long.

Do you have any summer essentials?

I bloody loved the OC. Zara do come out with some absolute gems these days daon’t they? This is the kind of thing i’ll end up with 4 different versions of and wear them in rotation until i get sick of seeing them on myself! Love easy to wear skirts for summer – a complet must have.

Looks fab. I get a bit lost in summer as my legs are just not good enough to bare – I generally stick to leggings or footless tights under dresses and skirts. I am rocking some fab navy and coral Monsoon cullotte things with a Breton top today, albeit with leggings underneath!

Love summer, but much prefer winter clothes. I think the maxi option may need investigating this year…

That is such a gorgeous summer skirt! It definitely looks like the definitive item for summer – a great colour and style that can be thrown on with anything.

Your legs look fantastic! I’ve got serious leg-issues, so I’m dead worried about getting rid of the tights and baring all!

That does look like a pretty perfect summer skirt. I love the blue and white. It would look amazing with a white blazer.

They are only £9.99, think I might have to get myself a few. I reckon they could become wardrobe staples! You look lovely, love everything about the outfit!

Love these skirts! They did similar floral ones last year but whenever I check their stock they only ever have them in large. Damn Zara! Looks lovely on you – blue and white is perfect for summer 🙂

definitely agree you with an oc style for summer, i love playsuits and floaty skirts because they’re so easy to wear and to dress up and dress down for summer x

Mentioning the OC – that’s the kind of thing that makes me feel old when reading blogs.

I love it when you find a versatile piece, and that was a bargain too.

Every time I’ve been on Zara over the last couple of weeks, I’ve seen this skirt in green & reeeeeeeally just needed it, really. I don’t know why I haven’t made it my own yet. Stupidity, really. Payday comes next week & then, oh then, I will definitely dump a tenner on it. & maybe get a couple more of the colours/patterns too!
