Last week I wrote about wearing my winter coat without actually, um, physically wearing it. See, it’s been really rather mild up north. Leather jacket weather has continued throughout October and quite frankly, there’s been no place for a wool-and-faux-fur full length coat. But although the reasonable weather continues, today I just wanted to cuddle up in something fluffy.

See? Here I am, cuddling up. There’s something very comforting about a warm winter coat, and it was just what I needed on a grey, drizzly day like today.

I’ve been feeling a bit ‘blah’ about my wardrobe recently – I think it’s the weather (all ailments can be blamed on the weather at this time of year). But that’s another great thing about a winter coat – a long one like this is an outfit in itself, so what you’re wearing underneath is inconsequential… until you reach your destination and have to take the coat off, of course. But for those glorious outdoor moments, all a statement coat needs is a lick of lipstick and some great shoes. These, by Clarks and c/o Sarenza, are called ‘Halloween Cool’. How apt!

I love your winter coat! I am definitely wearing my winter coat, and have been for a few weeks, sporadically, in rotation with a leather/parka coat I bought. The weather can’t make up it’s mind! x

I have snuck one of my winter coats on in the last week – a wool tweedy cocoon style one. I have the same yellow Matalan dress but it’s a bit longer on me – I’m a bit of a shorty.

In NY, it’s chilly and windy, but it’s not yet cold enough for a winter coat. I’m enjoying my anoraks, bulky sweaters, and leather jackets while I can! Love that coat on you.

I love your coat! I was just thinking about that peculiar moment when you have to decide when to start wearing your wintercoat. Buying mine early in the season DOES mean I won’t mind so much when it gets cold 🙂

A slightly worrying development. All other shoes feel awful in comparison.
I love the coat, need to go & check out the TK selection, but I rarely find good stuff now the Leeds store is on the Headrow, it was more secret when it was on the top floor of the Headrow Shopping Centre!
LOVE this coat, and those shoes are fab, I have been digging mine out to add a bit of colour to otherwise monochrome outfits, at least I can still wear my thinner macs!

I totally agree with the idea of the statement coat. If your coat is ah-mazing then what you have to wear underneath can be less enchanting (especially if you don’t have to take your coat off once you reach your destination) Lol. But I love your coat. Very chic!
