Thrift Finds of The Month – January

Posted in Second Hand Shopping.

I’m not being entirely truthful with this post, as only one of these pieces was found in January. But hopefully you’ll forgive me for getting creative with the dates when you see what I found…

I’ve been searching for an ornate silver tray since I saw one on Paula’s blog. When I spotted this beauty for only £2.99, I was at the till in a flash.

I must thank the lovely volunteer at my favourite St Gemma’s Hospice shop for pointing this one out. I had a grey wool coat in my arms and was ready to pay when she mentioned ‘the grey scarf’ that would go with it perfectly. It’s gorgeously soft and was a steal at only £1.50.

I’ll admit – I have no idea how to wear this. I bought it for the beautiful collar alone – wouldn’t it look great peeping out from under a scoop neck jumper? For £2, it’s a worthy style challenge.

Ralph Lauren isn’t a brand I’m usually drawn to, but the colour caught my eye. This shade of blue looks good on everyone – I’m saving this one for summer to wear over cute dresses.

Have you bagged any bargains recently?

Great finds! Particularly love the cardigan and tray. Wish my charity shops sold such good stuff, it’s slim pickings where I am!

I really have to start looking around charity shops, I always see such amazing things on people’s blogs but for some reason I’m always a bit fearful of them. Will set myself a challenge I think! xxx

I love the tray, I always think trays make the best platform for displaying stuff.
When you first tweeted about the scarf and cardigan I knew they sure would be good finds! I’m always partial to a bit of Juicy Couture (in small doeses)xxx

You find such fabulous things! All I seem to find are elasticated waist jeans and stretched, bobbled knitwear.
Look forward to seeing the outfit posts featuring these finds.

Fab finds!

I had no luck in charity shops in the latter part of 2011 but the year ended in excellent style – a (handmade I think) vintage shift dress and jacket which is green and a bit sparkly and I LOVE it. £4.99 – hurrah!
