Okay, I admit it – I am disgustingly nosy. I love having a virtual (and sometimes real life, as my friends will confirm) rummage through other people’s bags, wardrobes and kitchen drawers. I think it’s fascinating to discover the things people treasure.
I get asked about my makeup quite often (weirdly, as I never, ever mention it and rarely take close ups of my face!) so when Paula from Pink Bow gave us a peek at her makeup, I thought I’d do the same.
I keep all my makeup in this white leather vanity case from Clinique. It’s huge with lots of pockets, making it perfect for carting a large collection around.
I use Benefit’s Bad Gal kohl pencil to create smoky eyes. Touche Eclat is a makeup must-have that I’ve been using since I was 15. The Clinique mascara is new – I took an old mascara to the Clinique counter in Debenhams and they swapped it for this one, for free!
Estee Lauder Double Wear has always been my favourite foundation. Nothing sticks to skin like it! I use Benefit’s Erase Paste to brighten under my eyes. Lots of people ask about my blusher (I must wear a lot) – it’s Topshop’s cream blusher in Flush.
My signature scent is J’adore Dior, but Marc Jacobs’ Daisy comes a close second. The hand cream is from L’Occitane and smells divine.
What are your makeup essentials?
You should include more makeup looks with outfit posts!
I love these posts too, I think I’ll do one soon. I could not be without Touche Eclat either!
Loved this! I’ve never owned Touche Eclat ever…but have been tempted many a time! The perfume atomiser is just lovely!
GREAT POST! I TRULY ENJOYED LOOKING AT YOUR BEAUTIFUL MAKE-UP!
SPECIALLY YOUR PERFUME BOTTLES… I LOVE THEM, TOO!
DEBBIE MOSS
Ouu, I have the Benefit stuff too, it’s really great! I used to be obsessed with Touche Eclat but then I discovered an even better concealer from Dior, can’t remember the name but it’s the best one I’ve ever tried. I love J’adore too plus your actually make up bag is gorgeous!!!
Hannah xx
Erase paste. Now that sounds like a product for me!
i totally need a new makeup box. mine is horribly old and too small! did you buy that one from clinque or was it a freebie?
ooh great peak into your make up jen! 🙂 ive always wanted to try the topshop blushers! maybe now i will 🙂 x
Daisy is my go-to scent (of course)
I think I’m going to invest in that Estee Lauder foundation, I’m currently using a Tesco one. Hmm.
x
I have wondered about whether touche eclat is worthwhile – you always have lovely looking skin so it must be! I used to wear J’adore a lot, and I really like Daisy. I do love putting a nice fragrance on in the morning 🙂
LOVE Touche Eclat, Bad Gal & Erase Paste. Saved my face many a time.
Oooo I have the Daisy perfume! I only got it for Christmas but I’m in love with it already. I’m currently wearing Lola by Marc Jacobs, which is just as lovely but a different kind of scent.
This is embarrassing but I’m not actually sure what Touche Eclat is! People keep swearing by it, so much so that I’m tempted to get it, but I have no idea what it is or how I would use it. Which is a bit pathetic really.
Your make up all looks so pretty. I bet getting ready is lovely when everything is in pretty containers rather than ugly boxes.
yay, i love daisy perfume too. thanks for the link 🙂
What a beautiful and well organised bag, Jen. The contents are so prettily photographed too.
My go to item is black eyeliner, never go a day without it, although I must say I didn’t get on with that Benefit Bad Gal, give me a cheapo kohl from an Asian supermarket any day. xxx
Beautifully taken shots Jen.
Love the perfume atomiser, always wanted one sitting on my dressing table.
Will be trying the foundation, looking for a new one.
xx
Ooh I’m so nosy too! I always love the ‘What’s in my bag’ posts.
I adore that perfume atomiser, it’s really quirky & pretty!
My makeup essentials right now are Rimmel ‘Sweetie’ pink lipstick, Une matt foundation & Chanel Mademoiselle perfume!
x
Ooh great post, I’m sure lots of us are super nosy haha. I keep meaning to pick up the Topshop flush cream blusher, from what I’ve seen it’s really pretty & your make up always looks beautiful.
I wouldn’t be without my Bourjois healthy mix foundation or Illamasqua cream blush in promise. xo
I use the Bad Gal lash too, I am thinking it may be time for me to invest in Touche Eclat xx
I must be the only person in the world who doesn’t like Touche Eclat. It never did anything for my undereye bags and now I’ve discovered something way better from MAC there’s no way I’m going back to it.
I’m nosy too so this is a fab post! Have always been tempted by Benefit goodies – the packaging and names are so great. xx
Debbie moss needs to take her finger off capslock. Jebus. haha.
Love it! We have so many of the same products. The Double Wear is next on my hit list!x
hmm I love Daisy too, I need a top up of it! I’ve never tried the Topshop make up but your blusher always looks perfect so it must be good!
I love having a nosey into other peoples bags as well, so thanks for sharing.
I love Benefit’s Erase Paste, but I prefer their ‘Lyin Eyes’. And your perfume spray bottle is gorgeous. I’ve always wanted one as well.
Jealous of the Chanel make up. I wish I could afford it. Daisy is my favourite, I go through it like water!

OOh i’m super nosy as well, if thereS a drawer to go in, i will, or a card on the fridge, i’ll read it – shameful i know !!:)
Great post Jen, I havent done a make up one for ages I might do one on your influence. We seem to like the same brands, I love to see what products people use it really fascinates me! x
Fab post Jen. I’m also a Chanel fan, i love the eyshadows and lipglosses. My other essentials are my ELF brushes and Complextion Perfection and Bobbi Brown Concealer x
I love peeking into people’s make-up bags! I can’t live without Erase Paste.
