About Jen
Hello, I’m Jen.
I’ve been working with words for quite a long time now. It probably started when I opened my first Live Journal account and poured out my teenage angst via a keyboard and a dial-up connection.
After that, I did some A Levels and a degree, stopped listening to Taking Back Sunday (well, most of the time) and started working as a digital copywriter. I did my time at some of the biggest agencies in Yorkshire, working on key clients like HSBC, The Open University, BBC Three, Kellogg’s and Vue Cinema before deciding to go it alone. I started freelancing in 2011 and am now based in my own little studio in the centre of Leeds.
These days I specialise in fashion, lifestyle, beauty and travel – I’ve worked with clients including Hunter Wellingtons, Diesel, Discover America, John Lewis and Kleenex, on a wide range of social media and digital projects. It’s a job that takes me all over the world, from New York Fashion Week to Coronation Festival at Buckingham Palace. Not bad, eh?
I also write a successful fashion and lifestyle blog, which has enabled me to work with brands like ASOS, Whistles, Barbour and Orla Kiely. I’ve been featured in and written for my fair share of magazines too, including InStyle, Cosmopolitan, Company and Grazia.
If that sounds good to you, I’d love to chat. You can email me on jen at jforjen dot com or catch me on Twitter – @msjenallison. And if you’re in the Leeds area, let’s get together – despite being a Yorkshire lass I don’t drink tea, but I’m always up for a Diet Coke.
TLDR;
I live in Leeds with my lovely husband and our two cats, Travis and Lillian. I like Thai food, Hendrick’s gin, ridiculously expensive candles and bright lipsticks. I’m learning ballet, I collect cacti… oh, and I’m pretty good with words.
