Everyday Spring Beauty

When the sun start shining and the days get longer, I like to switch up my everyday makeup for the lighter shades of spring.

Spring is an inbetween-y season – the skies may be blue but the temperature can plummet in a moment and it’s windy, rainy and sometimes even snowy. British Isles, how we love you.

I like to stick with my full-coverage base and add freshness with pinky shades. Here are a few of my most recent purchases…

Topshop Cream Blush in Afternoon Tea, £7
I adore cream blushers all year round but they’re particularly good for the warmer months. I have a few shades from Topshop’s collection and this bright pink adds life to my sometimes-sallow skin. The formula is silky smooth and really long lasting.

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Elusive, £7.99
I loved the first collection of Revlon ColorBurst balms (or Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, as they were called) and although the new formulas aren’t quite as great in my opinion, I do love this colour. A pretty pinky shade that’s perfect for an everyday face.

Benefit Gimme Brow in Light/Medium, £17.50
Benefit is my top choice for brows. I get mine shaped and tinted at their Brow Bar and use the Instant Brow Pencil to fill, but the new Gimme Brow gel takes things to another level. It’s a thickener that clings to hair and skin to ‘volumise’ brows, with amazing results.

Victor & Rolf Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum, £68
I’m a bit of a perfume junkie and this is one of my favourite scents for spring – light and floral with notes of rose, jasmine and orchid. The fragrance lingers all day and it smells so good I wear it day in, day out.

Benefit The POREfessional, £22
An oldie but a goodie. I’ve been using this for a few years now and season to season, it never fails to keep my face in place. It’s a great base for foundation and helps makeup go on smoothly.

Essie Nail Polish in Lapiz of Luxury, £7.99
The easiest way to bring spring to your makeup bag is with a pastel polish. Essie’s Lapiz of Luxury is a little more wearable than super-girly pinks and the subtle blue shade works for day and night.

So that’s what’s in my spring makeup bag… what about you?
