When I walked into my studio building wearing this outfit, a friend exclaimed ‘mermaid skirt! I LOVE it!’ and so The Mermaid Skirt was given its official title. I’ve had this Topshop pencil skirt for ages but never really found a way to wear it due to my aforementioned casual tendencies. Then I remembered black solves all fashion problems and… ta dah!
