Our Wedding Thank You Cards

unique thank you cards

The very last step in the wedding process is sending out the thank you cards. About a month after the big day, when Rob and I had finally recovered and we’d reluctantly finished the last of the cheese, we started thinking about how to thank our lovely guests.

It took us all of 5 minutes to agree that we didn’t want to use a photo from the day itself (as is the norm) and another 30 seconds to decide that an illustration was the way to go. And there was never any question who we’d ask – the amazing Kris Atomic created our wedding invites and I knew her style would work just as beautifully for the thank you cards.

An email or so and a few weeks later, Kris sent over her illustration and spent at least half an hour staring lovingly into my own illustrated eyes. I mean, look at it!

Kris captured every detail so beautifully – from Rob’s spotted tie to the lace of my dress. It still makes me smile every time I see it.

With the illustration in place, I went back to Printed.com and had it printed on simple, textured card. We used Printed.com for part of the invites and the service is always impeccable – speedy, cheap and great quality.

I hand-wrote every card and sent them all off in the post, making sure to save a couple for framing. One now lives on my desk at work, and this one’s on the mantlepiece.

There are so many options when it comes to wedding stationery, but going bespoke really worked for us. There’s nothing like seeing your ‘vision’ come to life exactly as you imagined, and hopefully you’ll be left with mementoes of the day that you’ll treasure forever. </Hallmark moment>

These look soooo good. Love the way he’s done the lace on your dress. We used a photo from the day but just one of us laughing at the speeches not posing and printed them on long thin textured card. Nice to do something a bit different. Your wedding looked so beautiful too. x

They look so good and I love that you hand wrote all of them, a really lovely touch. I loved your wedding posts, its hard not to get caught up in wedding things when you’re planning so I am on a bit of a rampage at the moment!

They are so cute! We organised a treasure hunt for our reception and the guests were in owl, squirrel and pigeon teams so we sent postcards of these animals as our thank yous.

aw, lovvvvely – nice touch! I love that you went for something non-generic that people would want to have up in their home for more than just a day! Your wedding looked so beautiful too, congrats!
