Wearing: ASOS skirt, Next blouse, faux fur jacket via car boot sale, Primark ring and tights
On: Tuesday 1st Feb
For: The first day of the 30 for 30 Remix Challenge
For the first day of my 30 for 30 Challenge, I thought it fitting to wear an outfit inspired by 30 for 30 Mistress Kendi.
Kendi has that easy, breezy American style I love on other people but find hard to pull off myself. I think it’s because I’m missing the billowing brunette locks and lithe limbs. Minor issues in my quest for that classic, preppy look.
Colour block skirts feature often in Kendi’s outfits (like here and here), so I used this as the base of my As Inspired By outfit and added touches of my own style to finish the look. Don’t you think Kendi should receive an official honour for her services to belting? Seriously, this girl knows how to work a length of leather and a buckle.
You’ll have to trust me for this first week of 30 for 30 by the way – I haven’t had a chance to photograph my pieces yet. But I will! Pinky swear. Who’s inspiring you today?
PS – This skirt does actually fit me. It’s not three sizes too small, as the photos would have you believe. Note to self – smooth clothes down before photographing.
I love you’re ‘inspired by’ posts. Links me to some great blogs.
Really really liking the skirt, beautiful colour.
All the best for your 30 for 30 challenge, can’t wait to see the results.
Today I’m finding the Spanish students at uni inspiring as they’re reminding me of living in Spain and all the Fashion Inspiration and Observation I got there.
I love this outfit, that skirt is such a gorgeous colour!

I think the colour of the skirt is just luscious and just looks perfect teamed with the sheer blouse.
I bought a sheer blouse months ago and its just sat in my wardrobe, but seeing your post makes me want to find something just right to team it with in my wardrobe!

Loving the faux fur jacket you are rocking. It’s the perfect little extra something to take this basic red skirt and black blouse and jazz it up. Great combo. – Katy
That skirt is lovely, I love the colour and the length looks perfect too. It sounds like a really good challenge, you always manage to make the most of your wardrobe so this will be great x
I love that skirt! The colour is fabulous.
I just love the black sheer top! So elegant – reminds me a bit of something from a 70s disco, but styled in a modern way here. Love!
