I’m still in a total New York State of Mind. I had to force myself to change the title of this post so it didn’t include the words New York City, as I’m sure you’re all beyond done with that now. But! I can still dress like a New Yorker without having to say ‘when we were in New York’ every 5 minutes… so that’s what I’m doing.
I’m having what most people would call an out-of-control-obsession moment with Topshop. I like to call it a love-in, but whatever. There is just SO.MUCH.GOOD in there right now – I’m into tropical prints in a big way, have discovered that crop tops are surprisingly flattering and I’ve reaffirmed my status as Person Who Can Wear Hats.
I’m also head over heels for my Vera Meat tooth necklace, which I picked up in (sorry) New York. I first discovered Vera Meat on ASOS a few years ago and bought a delicate little heart ring that I promptly lost. I’ve been stalking the brand ever since but it’s pretty difficult to get over here, so when I found out they had a shop in Williamsburg, it was one of my first stops on our trip.
You may (or may not!) know that since November last year I’ve been wearing a brace – it sits behind my teeth so you can’t actually see it, but I talk about it on Twitter quite a bit. I’m coming to the end of my treatment now and my teeth are CRAZY straight, so I thought I’d mark the occasion with a gold-plated tooth strung around my neck. As you do.
As much as I’m trying to channel the laidback cool of a typical New Yorker, I am actually very happy to be home. Yorkshire, it’s nice to be back!
