Sunday Smile #14

Posted in Fashion.

Happy Sunday, dear followers! I trust you’re all enjoying your weekends? Good, glad to hear it. As I cancelled my 7am boot sale alarm in favour of sleeping off the cider I consumed last night, today’s Sunday Smile stars the sale bargains I’ve picked up from the high street over the last few weeks.

Now, you know full well I love me a bargain. Finding a pretty piece with a hefty discount is a glorious thing, and I’ve started to look at sale shopping as a personal challenge. I hunt for the biggest savings on stuff I know I’ll wear again and again. And look at my spoils!

Skirt, £35 down to £15 in Topshop. You’ve already seen me wearing this but it’s such a cute bargain, I had to include it. I can’t wait to pair it with thick tights and boots when it gets colder.

Tassel pumps, £25 down to £10, Topshop. Pumps are my shoe staples for autumn so these were a wonderful find.

Photobucket
Black and denim skinny jeans, £22.90 down to £9.90, Mango. Great quality, fab fit and in my two favourite washes.

Quilted leather bag with chain strap, £39.99 down to £19.99, Zara. I’ve been searching for the perfect black leather bag for a while, and this is it. I love the tassel drawstring!

Cotton striped dress, £19.99 down to £9.99, Zara. A classic design with added detail – a double collar and pockets. So cute.

Brown suede cowboy boots, £79.99 down to £19.99 (!!), Zara. Saving the best ’til last. These boots are my favourites – I’ll be wearing them with dresses and bare legs while it’s still warm (ish) and jeans and knits when the weather turns.

So, lots of lovely sale buys to feast your eyes upon. Have you found yourself suddenly at the sale rail, arms laden with goodies? Are you waiting for the AW10 collections to hit the shelves instead? Or maybe you’re a better person than I and have returned from an early morning boot sale with a whole new wardrobe? Do tell.

PS – Only a few hours left to enter my Funk Rock giveaway – I’ll be announcing the winner at 8pm. If you haven’t entered yet, go go go!

I missed the earlydoors carboot sale myself this morning and went to the 10am one instead, and yes I came home with new wardrobe for about £14 🙂 2 pairs of shoes, a playsuit, tulip skirt, dress, shirt, trousers, sequin waistcoat, couple of tops, a bag, a necklace…I’m going to have to stop it soon I’m running out of space!

I really love the bag and boots, the zara sale is fabulous bu I’m trying to stay away!

Lovely finds! The skirt really suits you 🙂
I found lots of bits today, both on the highstreet, and at the carboot. Just finished my post on it.

What a super haul, Jen! Very wise to snap up wearable classics you’ll wear again and again, that’s what I’d call savvy shopping. xxx

great finds! I’d never find that many buys in a sale! I especially like the Zara boots and the Topshop pumps! Also, good job on the ridiculously cheap skinny jeans from Mango!

The Topshop shoes are great value. I want them like yesterday.

Zara finds look a little cheap and dated but might look good teamed up with other thrifts?

Sales are the best way to shop. Especially when you’re paying a fraction of the price you would have paid originally.
It’s just a great feeling.

My fave has to be the Topshop pumps and skirt, although I’m not usually one for Topshop, these are both beautiful.

I skipped on the car boot this week too, sometimes it’s just TOO early to get up xx

Wow those are some great finds! I never seem to be able to find good wardrobe staples in the sales. I’ve just been on my hols down to Brighton and London and picked up loads of stuff but only one thing was a sale bargain item! A pair of grey leather peep toe ankle boots from oasis £60 down to £15! Have a looksy at my blog for my full haulage – http://www.keepingslimandgettingstylish.blogspot.com x

I honestly can’t remember the last time I bought something for full price apart from at Primark (and we don’t have one in Edinburgh so it’s been about 6 months anyway!)
Pretty much everything I own is a sales item, from eBay or from a charity shop. I still have to try out this whole car boot lark but no idea where to start, how to find local ones.

I love everything you got but if I had to choose I reckon it would be the Topshop pumps, lovely neutral colour you can wear again and again and again…

I almost feel like you deserve congratulations!

I LOVE those boots Jen! You’ve got some great pieces there.

I think I’m running on similar lines to you – picking up bits and bobs in the sales that are quite versatile and will last ages, rather than diving on all the super reduced trendy stuff. I got some fab bits at the car boot yesterday though which is always pleasing.
