I’m wrapped in the Union Jack, drinking a(nother) G&T and cheering the Queen down the Thames. Here are some photos from the last couple of weeks…

Returning from America to an enormous pile of laundry, a clingy kitten and a ridiculous amount of work meant I was desperate for something to cheer me up. These bright gerberas did just the trick – and check out the (very, very) old photo of me and Rob! Cute.

I love the packaging for the May GlossyBox, and the products inside were pretty lovely too!

A morning wakeup call from Travis… at 7am on a Saturday. Good job he’s cute.

My childhood doggie Bram – she’s 13 now and was finding it hard to cope in the heat with her huge shaggy coat (she’s a bearded collie and has always looked like this), so had a very dramatic makeover. When I first saw her I thought my mum had got a new dog!

I swiped this Union Jack cupcake from the buffet at a client meeting – it was as delicious as it looks.

The lovely folks at Cath Kidston sent me a package stuffed with bits and bobs to celebrate their summer tour – I’m hoping to catch the traveling campervan at The Great Yorkshire Show in July.

This week I’ve been in Brighton for Brighton Fashion Week, courtesy of iCrossing. I’ve never been to Brighton before and absolutely loved it – it’s the epitome of British culture and tradition, even more so as the country’s caught up in Jubilee celebrations. Kristabel and I wandered along the seafront to snap some shots and eat hot, fresh doughnuts… which a seagull took a fancy to and snatched straight out of my hand!

We stayed at Hotel Du Vin in Brighton which was a beautiful place – I loved the classic, vintage styling and special touches in the room. I’m used to budget hotels so staying somewhere so lovely was a welcome change! And the cocktails were delicious too.

The other bloggers and I went along to the opening show of Brighton Fashion Week, which included a range of collections from local designers. The show was set in an amazing church with stunning glass windows – between each collection I was looking up at the architecture and the way the light illuminated all the curves of the building. Just gorgeous.

I wore my Disco Pants with a long sleeveless blouse from Topshop, my Gap blazer, J.Crew necklace and simple pumps. I also curled my hair, which seems to be the only way to make it look good at the moment!

The day after the show Kristabel, Ellie and I headed into Brighton to explore the vintage shops, with plenty of recommendations from Jo. Snooper’s Paradise lived up to its name – a sprawling space jam-packed with treasures from every era, from 50s dresses to 20s suitcases. I can’t remember the name of the shop with all the shoes, but I loved the colour coordination.

Back in Leeds, I did the rounds at my local charity shops and picked up this amazing moustache mug and a couple of Russian dolls, along with two dresses, another mug and lots of vintage books.

The final shot is my outfit today – I’m wearing a Matalan tea dress, J.Crew parka, Valensi ankle boots c/o Sarenza and my beloved ASOS spike necklace. I’ve been at a friend’s baby shower so am absolutely stuffed with cake and ready for a glass of wine – enjoy the rest of the long weekend!

Bram is adorable! He also looks slightly lilac in that photo from the lighting, how on trend eh? 😉 He has def had a lot chopped off, when my westie has a hair cut he becomes a crazy puppy all over again, even though he’s a little old man really. What a fab week for you xxx

Like these images, they’ve got the shabby Brit chic doing rounds right now. Very Olympic year and Royal Jubilee, it’ll never tire, because it’s cool!

We did have a lovely vintage coffee table but sadly the leg snapped off and spilt red wine all over my cream carpet! So the table is no more and I’m on the look-out for a replacement. The Ikea one in the photo is just a stand-in 😉
