What’s In My (Brand New) Bag

Oh, hello. You’re rather lovely, aren’t you?

About a week before Christmas, I decided I deserved a treat. We’d just moved house, I’d been working flat out for two months on some tricky projects and I was thoroughly exhausted. Plus, shopping for Christmas presents is no fun if you can’t slip in a little something something for yourself, amirite?

I’d been eyeing up the Michael Kors range on Sarenza for a while and so with a little help from a voucher they kindly sent me, I ordered myself the Selma tote in Navy. A couple of days later I cradled it lovingly in the crook of my arm and it’s been there ever since.

Over the last few months Michael Kors has become one of my favourite brands. I love the clean, cool aesthetic – it has luxe appeal without the huge price tag. The Selma tote doesn’t come cheap at just over £300, but for such a huge bag and in such beautiful Italian leather it really is great value. Plus, check out that colour. Swoon!

The bag was a little (um, ok quite large) Christmas present to myself, but I was thoroughly spoilt in a Michael Kors fashion by Rob, too. My birthday falls on 30th December and this year I was presented with a purse and iPad Mini case (plus the iPad Mini… see, so spoilt!) to match my bag. MORE SWOON.

So here’s a little peek at what I’m toting around in my new… tote:

Michael Kors Jet Set Purse in Orange, which now seems to be sold out everywhere (it’s an AW13 style). The bright orange is the perfect partner to my navy bag and makes it so easy to spot my purse inside. Love love love.
Michael Kors iPad Mini Sleeve in Black to keep my shiny new iPad safe. So matchy matchy!
Orange leather gloves from Hobbs which I grabbed in the sale along with a navy peacoat… do you see a pattern here? 2014 – the year of navy and orange!
Embossed card holder c/o Brit-Stitch with my name stamped on the front, just in case I forget it.
Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel, another lovely birthday gift and my ‘signature scent’ (at 28 I feel I’m now old enough to have one).
A soft bristle hairbrush by Kent to keep my locks in check.

Obviously I carry round all manner of rubbish not worthy of a photograph – while prepping for this shot I retrieved four lipsticks, two packets of Tic-Tacs and a least a tree’s worth of receipts. And I’ve only had the bag two weeks!

What are you lugging around in your bag today?

I’m ever so guilty of having piles of receipts at the bottom of my bag… This bag is so beautiful, the colour is perfect and I love how the orange of your purse works with it. I’d love a Michael Kors bag, however I think it’ll be a few years (or a better job) before I can justify it!

Beautiful bag, great choice, makes a change from all the Kors totes I see! This may be a bit random, but I love your bed sheets (I’m assuming they’re bed sheets!)
