Primark top, Primark long sleeve tee, H&M skirt, Topshop tights, thrifted heels, Eclectic Eccentricity necklace, H&M belt
Today I’m channelling my favourite EVER TV character – the delectably delicious Joan Holloway from Mad Men. Of course, I’ve given her a 2010 update with nude shades, polka dots and a little bit of denim, but the basic silhouette is true to form.
PS – today’s nails are courtesy of Bourjois So Laque Ultra Shine in Beige Glamour.
Oh! that skirt looks divine on you, absoloutely gorgeous xx
That top and skirt are just fabulous on your perfect hourglass figure. Great look, Jen?
Fictional inspiration? Mildred Roper and Margot Leadbetter, obviously! 70’s-tastic!
See you in a month.

AHHH that shirt is so awesome!!
Wow I totally love your top and I love how you have styled it. Fabulous look.
You are so glam do you do your nails everyday??
xoxo
I adore everything! I love denim pencil skirts.
Such a stereotypical answer… but I adore Jessica Rabbit! Her curves, the red dress! I adore sexy glamour. I also love Jennifer’s greys pink chiffon dress in Dirty Dancing, and the dancing shoes in Dirty Dancing!

Oh! I also remember when I first watched Clueless, how I adored the fashion in that movie, especially Cher’s red dress.
The Virgin Suicides also had a lot of beautiful ethereal romantic vibe with all the floaty florals and pastels and chiffon..
And Uma in Pulp Fiction! I loved her shirt haha. I also love That 70’s Show for cute 70;s style fashion.
I LOVE it! And Joan Holloway is such a babe.
I love Wednesday Adams and Enid from Ghostworld. My favourite films characters ever, hehe.
Love this. You pull these looks off so well.
Fabulous, Jen! This outfit is made for you! Yeap, I do take inspiration from fiction and tv. Just now I’m reading Anna Karenina and before I came up with any ideas Blair channeled her in a gorgeous little silk nothing in Gossip Girl. Mad Men is definitely on my list. I’ve already got 2 outfits lined up and am looking forward to your expert opinion.
That skirt is lovely, 50s chic π x
love the shoulders on that top!

Oh Jen, you pull off the Joan Holloway look with effortless ease – love it!
It’s not so much a character whose style I draw inspiration from, more celebrities such as Vanessa Hudgens, Miroslava Duma, and Nicole Richie. Though I do adore Serena’s style on “Gossip Girl.” π
Paddington Bear! Yeah, okay, weird, but I couldn’t live without a blue duffel coat and wellies. I’d love to carry around a battered old suitcase too.
Dots on dots!!! You look adorable!
How in the world do you know what pieces to put together?? You always pick the perfect outfits and you always look fabulous! Now if I did it, I’d probably look like a clown π
Happy Wednesday Dear!
I love that top! Polkadots are such a great invention!
Love the top and tights!
x
I love the tights! I need to get some of those!
Ah, how I love Joan. Do I spy the polka dot heels making an appearance? Woo!
I have to confess to lusting after the wardrobe of Cher from Clueless – I would love the computer matching option and all those deliciously preppy 90’s tartan skirts and knee socks.
your top is divine! Along with the tights too, i gotta get myself a pair of those heart shaped tights. On screen I love Jenny from Gossip girl…so grungy and glam.
Okay, I admit it. I stared. I like the ruffles on the shoulders of that Primark long sleeve tee too.
I’m loving all the polka dots! Cute idea!

I can never resist polka dots!! You look amazing π
I adore the polka dot tights – I’ve worn mine to death! π
Your outfit is so cute! I love the shoulders on your top!
I always admire 50’s fashion… and I love your top. Fabulous look Jen! xoxo
I love patterned tights, I have loads of pairs and I want loads more pairs!
You really do pull off that look! I look hideous in pencil skirts. You also look so good in the high shoulders top, another thing I just cannot wear.
I wish I wish I wish I could do a Blair Waldorf style every day. She is my favourite dressed character ever. My actual inspiration style is more Zooey Deschanel, Mary Kate Olsen, Carrie Bradshaw… or really just my own! I have such an odd body shape I can’t really pull off anyones style in particular!
Love, Amy Marie.
this is such a cute look!the top is amazing! i can’t wait to go shop in london!ahha
xxjess
YAYYYY. Polka dots just make me happy. And this is a double dose of polka dots. Therefore, double happy? Hmm..
And I love Blair Waldorf’s style!

I always find polka dot tights make me feel all ladylike!
Ooooh I’ve recently started watching Mad Men. I’ve got plenty to watch though, as I have to start from series 1!
Love the tights. x
I’ve made my feelings on this outfit very clear on twitter. Hello, Joan!
Love it! I don’t really have any inspiration from fiction… at least I can’t think of anything right now…
Love the polka dots!
This is such a good look for you, LOVEEE it!
You have such a perfect 50’s silhouette. I have the top half, but no hips!
♥
polka makes me weak in the knees…hehehe.
hmmmm, i’m not sure if i do specifically follow a tv character..although i like vanessa’s and jenny’s outfits in gossip girl…i’ve always loved the mismatched look. π
