There’s something so liberating about dressing in true 50s fashion. It’s ultra girly and unashamedly glamorous. It makes no excuses – yep, I’m accentuating my waist, boobs and legs – what of it? And it makes boys stare. πŸ˜‰

Today I’m channelling my favourite EVER TV character – the delectably delicious Joan Holloway from Mad Men. Of course, I’ve given her a 2010 update with nude shades, polka dots and a little bit of denim, but the basic silhouette is true to form.

Do you take inspiration from fiction? Is there a character, on screen or paper, whose style you just adore? I’d love to know!

That top and skirt are just fabulous on your perfect hourglass figure. Great look, Jen?
Fictional inspiration? Mildred Roper and Margot Leadbetter, obviously! 70’s-tastic!
See you in a month.

Oh! I also remember when I first watched Clueless, how I adored the fashion in that movie, especially Cher’s red dress.
The Virgin Suicides also had a lot of beautiful ethereal romantic vibe with all the floaty florals and pastels and chiffon..
And Uma in Pulp Fiction! I loved her shirt haha. I also love That 70’s Show for cute 70;s style fashion.

Fabulous, Jen! This outfit is made for you! Yeap, I do take inspiration from fiction and tv. Just now I’m reading Anna Karenina and before I came up with any ideas Blair channeled her in a gorgeous little silk nothing in Gossip Girl. Mad Men is definitely on my list. I’ve already got 2 outfits lined up and am looking forward to your expert opinion.

Oh Jen, you pull off the Joan Holloway look with effortless ease – love it!

It’s not so much a character whose style I draw inspiration from, more celebrities such as Vanessa Hudgens, Miroslava Duma, and Nicole Richie. Though I do adore Serena’s style on “Gossip Girl.” πŸ™‚

Paddington Bear! Yeah, okay, weird, but I couldn’t live without a blue duffel coat and wellies. I’d love to carry around a battered old suitcase too.

How in the world do you know what pieces to put together?? You always pick the perfect outfits and you always look fabulous! Now if I did it, I’d probably look like a clown πŸ˜‰

Happy Wednesday Dear!

Ah, how I love Joan. Do I spy the polka dot heels making an appearance? Woo!

I have to confess to lusting after the wardrobe of Cher from Clueless – I would love the computer matching option and all those deliciously preppy 90’s tartan skirts and knee socks.

your top is divine! Along with the tights too, i gotta get myself a pair of those heart shaped tights. On screen I love Jenny from Gossip girl…so grungy and glam.

I love patterned tights, I have loads of pairs and I want loads more pairs!

You really do pull off that look! I look hideous in pencil skirts. You also look so good in the high shoulders top, another thing I just cannot wear.

I wish I wish I wish I could do a Blair Waldorf style every day. She is my favourite dressed character ever. My actual inspiration style is more Zooey Deschanel, Mary Kate Olsen, Carrie Bradshaw… or really just my own! I have such an odd body shape I can’t really pull off anyones style in particular!

Love, Amy Marie.

YAYYYY. Polka dots just make me happy. And this is a double dose of polka dots. Therefore, double happy? Hmm..

And I love Blair Waldorf’s style!

Thank you for the comment – I was about to say consider yourself entered for the giveaway, but are you aware you’re not actually following me?! I’m so offended :p

Love that Primark shirt – I normally hate things that everyone has, but I just can’t bring myself to do anything but love that shirt!

This outfit looks amazing on you by the way πŸ™‚

PS. Your reason for wanting to win is pretty bad, you’re right! Glad you’ve been having a lucky streak recently though – fancy passing some of that luck onto me please?!
