VLOGMAS #2 – DECORATING FOR CHRISTMAS

Posted in Weekly Vlogs.

I’m really enjoying #Vlogmas – having a weekly goal (which is basically just ‘do a video) is keeping me on track and Christmas is a very fun and cheerful time to record daily life. Yay #Vlogmas!

Episode 2 is all about decorating for Christmas – Rob and I got our tree (and a free box of clementines, most middle class thing ever), stuck it in a plant pot while we went away for the weekend then came back on Sunday and decorated it. CHRISTMAS EFFICIENCY.

Watch the full festive experience below!

I’m doing #VLOGMAS!

Happy 1st December, friends!

As I am now a fully-fledged member of the ~YouTube community~, I’m doing what all YouTubers do in December – VLOGMAS.

The first “episode” is a rather shambolic (but very festive) TK Maxx/Homesense haul, where I show you a gold bird ornament and the pyjamas I wore to bed the night before, amongst other things.

Enjoy!

Harrods Christmas Hamper

Posted in Food.

I know it’s not quite December yet, but I am in full festive mode. I’ve got a mini tree up, You’ve Got Mail is on the TV and I’ve consumed about five pints of cinnamon hot chocolate in the last week. CHRISTMAS, guys. Let’s kick it off right now.

I’m not a ‘foodie’ by any means – I can’t really cook, I love a Double Cheeseburger and, without fail, I always order steak and chips at restaurants. For 11 months of the year, I’m not really into fine food. But Christmas is different.

Christmas is chocolate truffles, fancy biscuits and unpasteurised cheese. It’s smoked salmon and brandy ice cream, roast parsnips and posh red wine. Christmas is the month of indulgence, and I go all out.

This beautiful hamper is my perfect Christmas in a basket. Luxury nuts, little pots of preserve, a full Christmas cake… it’s a delight.

Inside the leather-topped basket is everything you need for a true luxury bitch festive season, from the champagne for your morning Buck’s Fizz to the tin of chocolate biscuits you’ll polish off while watching the Sherlock Christmas Special. There’s even a special bauble for your tree, to remind you of ‘that Christmas with all the food’ for years to come.

I’m saving this baby for Christmas Day, when I will dive into that wicker basket and stay there till it’s time for dinner.

Season’s Greetings!

Christmas Party Outfit Shopping

Posted in Fashion, Weekly Vlogs.

It’s Chriiiiiistmaaaaaaas!

… Ok, not quite. But the festive season is just around the corner, and I’ll take any chance I can get to start my Christmas early. So, let’s go shopping for a Christmas Party outfit!

The lovely people at McArthurGlen York gave me £250 to spend on sequins, sparkles and seasonal cheer so after my first Red Cup of the year, I set about creating the perfect party outfit. Take a look at how I got on!

I was given a £250 gift card to spend at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet for this post.

Am I Too Old For Pink Hair?

Posted in Beauty.

If you’re a fan of my Instagram selfies (and let’s face it, who isn’t), you might’ve noticed a change in my hair colour. Just before I went to Lisbon, I had an appointment to get my roots done (the platinum blonde upkeep struggle is real) and decided to go for something a bit different. Pink!

I’ve never had a ‘weird’ hair colour before. Chopping and changing the length doesn’t bother me at all and I’ve had every style from a pixie crop to boob-sweeping length. But it’s always been blonde or brown (and a dalliance with red for all of 2 minutes). There’s something inherently ~rebellious~ about dyeing your hair an unusual colour, and at the age of (almost) 30, I was ready to give it a go.

My hairdressers Rob and Amelia (at Russell Eaton in Leeds, they’re the best) topped up my bleach as normal but instead of the usual toner, they applied a mix of salmon and rose shades to create the look. I didn’t want to go bright, in-your-face candy pink so the resulting subtle colour was absolutely perfect.

Of course, it almost disappeared after the first wash – apparently pink is just as fickle as red when it comes to longevity. Luckily some Twitter babes told me about BLEACH’s Rose Shampoo and Conditioner which I’ve been using every other wash to maintain the shade. It works like a dream!

When I was thinking about dyeing my hair pink, I did pause for a second to consider my impending 30-year-old status. Only for a second, though. Have a watch of the video above to hear my rambling thoughts on this subject, which include the lines “I’m here to tell you” (cringe) and “it’s something we put on ourselves” complete with impassioned hand gesturing. You are welcome.

Here’s to never growing up!
