I’ve been neglecting my thrift recently – my weekends have been consumed with house hunting (we found one! More on that later) and partying, so early morning flits to the car boot have been passed up for more duvet time. And I’ve been hitting the high street, rather than second hand central. Naughty, naughty.

Last weekend I rectified that with an afternoon jaunt to my favourite place. Now, someone who lives nearby obviously loves Warehouse’s silk dresses. This is the second I’ve picked up, and it’s just as beautiful as the first. The simple shape and cute embroidered detail makes it so easy to style – for this look I toughened it up with my leather jacket, a straw trilby and those ever-present very.co.uk boots. This one’s definitely a keeper.

I’ve had my hair cut! You like? This is the shortest style I’ve ever had and I just love it. I took a photo of The Glamourai to the hairdressers with me – she is my total and utter hair idol. I can’t wait to experiment with it. I love the way Katie from What Katie Wore wears her short crop flipped up in a quiff. Short hair is so versatile – looking back I can’t believe I ever had shoulder length locks!

As for the outfit, these homemade cut off 501s have become my absolute favourites, as have the black boots so kindly donated by very.co.uk. All in all, I’m feeling in fine fettle… for a Monday, anyway.

A cold and rainy Sunday – perfect for sorting out my AW wardrobe. The temperature has dropped considerably this week, so I’ve gathered up floaty skirts, strappy sandals and anything that looks remotely like cheesecloth and put the lot in storage. Far from feeling sad about packing up the summer, I’ve spent the day discovering forgotten jumpers and long lost scarves. It feels especially good to take my boots out of their boxes and let my coat collection take its rightful place in my wardrobe.

I wore this stunning LK Bennett shift dress for my Mum’s wedding last September. This time round I’ll be pairing it with a faux fur stole and simple cream heels.

Ten girls, one item, a host of different looks – that’s what Project Take 10 is all about. We’re on to our second challenge and this one is sponsored by those fine dressers of feet, Schuh.

Unlike the lace waistcoat from our first challenge, these perfectly pink brogues are much more my style. I knew pairing them with denim and vintage detailing would work well, and quirky accessories just finished the look. Pinning brooches anywhere but my lapel is a new habit by the way – I recommend you all try it!

Of course, the other girls completely and totally rocked it. Get a load of these hotties!

Another fab challenge done and dusted, which is sad as it’s lovely Leia’s last. She’s leaving us to go live in far more exotic climes and marry her boyfriend. Jealous, us? Never! We’ll be welcoming a new face to the Take 10 family for our next challenge… let’s just say she has a dangerously drug-like addiction to vintage. Any guesses?
