Mollie enjoying the snow!
Happy Christmas everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful time. It’s over so quickly – soon we’ll be back at work with our noses to the grindstone. But enough about that! There’s New Year and my birthday to look forward to before then.
Yesterday was a great family day – as it should be. I thought I’d share a few photos from our celebrations. I’ve got such a stylish family! I got some really lovely gifts including a years’ subscription to InStyle (hooray!) and some gorgeous TIGI products, but my favourite by an absolute mile is my beautiful new MacBook. After spending a good few years on a Dell and never quite understanding fuss about Apple, I started my job back in April on a brand new iMac and have been harbouring a crush ever since. It’s such a JOY to use!
Anyway, I hope you’re all enjoying Boxing Day – don’t stray too far from that sofa (unless you’re making a trip to the kitchen for more food!).

Merry Christmas! Wow, it’s so wonderfully white here – it’s amazing! After a rather hairy ride 10 minutes down the road this morning (fell over in the snow, went flying out onto a dual carriageway when the traffic lights were red and to top it off, got stuck on a hill and had to be pushed out by a skinny man walking a tiny dog!) I rang work to say I couldn’t make it in and so have been snuggled up in the flat ever since. Working of course, but there’s not a great deal left to do!

We’re leaving for the family homes in an hour, so just a quick post from me. Part three of my sparkly Christmas mission is complete – hope you like this gorgeous dress! I want to thank every single person who has followed, commented or even just read my blog. This is the kind of thing I’ve wanted to do all my life so I’m very grateful that people seem to find me interesting-ish!

I’ll be posting between Christmas and New Year but for now, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and I’ll see you on the other side.

Lots of love, light and laughter,

Jen xxx

Christmas mission, take two! Today’s outfit was pretty simple – neutral colours, relaxed fabrics, nothing too restricting or uncomfortable (although making my way across the icy car park in these heels wasn’t my favourite fashion experience!). As part of my sparkly Christmas mission (which basically involves me wearing something that shimmers for the three working days before Christmas) I added this beautiful sequined butterfly headband. The best thing is, this was part of my Secret Santa gift from work! I think I have a pretty good idea of who bought it, but it’s so ME, I’m really thankful for the thought that went into it. I love it!

I hope you’re all gearing up for the big day now – just one working day left, and I get to leave at 2pm so not too shabby at all. Tonight the Mr and I are having an early Christmas as we’ll be heading off to see our families tomorrow (although they only live 10 minutes apart). We’ve got the turkey roasting, the ice cream waiting and the champagne chilling!

Keep an eye out for the third and final day of my mission tomorrow – it’s a goodie! 🙂

I have a Christmas mission to share with you. As I’m working right up to Christmas Eve (which I’m sure lots of you guys are, too), I’m finding it really hard to get into the Christmas spirit. So, to cheer myself and my colleagues up, I plan to wear something sparkly for the next few working days before we all toddle off home to drink ourselves into a Christmas stupor.

Today I wore my fab little sequined waistcoat over a cosy wool dress and thick black tights. I’ve got something very exciting to break out for tomorrow – Merry Christmas!

Today I definitely dressed for comfort rather than style, but I think it turned out pretty well!

I’ve never really ‘got’ supermarket chic. Buying clothes alongside frozen chickens and pints of milk kinda takes the magic out of it. The harsh overhead lights, whirring refrigerators and trolleys with wobbly wheels are constant reminders that you’re not cosseted with fellow fashionistas in a Topshop haven. Whereas shopping for clothes is a joyous treat, being inside a supermarket just reminds me of the daily grind – I find it hard to escape to the dressing room in my head and imagine what I could do with that skirt, or those shoes.

A trip to my local Sainsbury’s on Saurday was no different – wobbly trolley, check. Harrassed mother with screaming child, check. Bag of parsnips, check. I must’ve took a wrong turn, (that or my wayward trolley decided to cut its own path) as I found myself wandering through the TU section – Saunsbury’s very own foray into fashion.

Most of it was as you’d expect – functional, simple, cheap. But a few things caught my eye… Firstly, the nightwear was excellent. What girl doesn’t love leopard print slipper boots and floral dressing gowns? Then I found a whole rack of beautiful leather riding boots. At £50, they weren’t cheap but neither were they expensive, and I would’ve snapped them up if they’d had my size.

Finally, I landed at the knitwear. This is where I was most impressed. Gorgeously soft, cosy knits in loads of colours and cuts, with cute and kooky embellishments to boot. I could’ve bought about 5 jumpers and more than a couple of cardigans, but restricted myself to the cable knit cutie you see in the pictures. With its gold buttons and regal shade, it’s just the nautical nicety I’m fond of and at £12 I really couldn’t resist. I’ll definitely be taking a trip down that aisle when I next need a loaf of bread!

PS – As as engagement present, my mum, stepdad and grandma bought Mr and I some beautiful Le Creuset cookware. Aaahh! I L.O.V.E Le Creuset and already have the big version of these adorable heart-shaped pots. We also got a cast iron dish for casserole creations.
