Giveaway winner and snow, snow, snow!

Posted in Daily Outfits.

First things first, I’m ever so sorry for not announcing the winner of my pinkplectrum giveaway when I was supposed to, on Thursday! A hectic few days has left me a little behind on blog stuff, so this is me catching up!

The winner of A Little Bird Told Me’s first ever giveaway is…

Phoebe from Peluxe! Well done Phoebe, please take a look at pinkplectrum and choose two pretty pieces to add to your jewellery box. Yay!

Levi’s black skinny jeans, New Look floral vest, Primark polo neck, Primark denim shirt, Office boots, Accessorize earmuffs, Topshop ring

And the details…

Snow! SNOW!! I’ve decided, although snow is pretty and magical and Christmassy, it’s also very inconvenient. I was late for work yesterday because the travelling conditions were so awful, and I decided to skip the latter half of my work Christmas party because I wanted to get home before more snow fell. Which it did! I don’t have to travel further than Sainsbury’s today though, so I’m content to play out in the powder.

These earmuffs are my new favourite things. I’ve decided they’re much better than woolly hats, because they don’t flatten my hair. And look how cute they are! I love a good Alpine print for winter.

Just before I pop off to watch Home Alone and wrap my Christmas presents, I wanted to say a massive thank you for the overwhelmingly lovely response I got on my last post. Being engaged is a wonderful thing and sharing it with friends, family and fellow bloggers only makes it better! Thank you all so much… I’ll reply to every comment.

… Gonna get married!! How exciting! My Mr asked me to me to marry him and I said ‘HELL YES!’

It happened a little while ago but he wanted me to choose the ring, so I kept it quiet until the rock was on my finger. But now I can tell the world and show off my sparkler – I’m engaged!

In true blogging style, I got plenty of pictures. I literally cannot stop staring at this shiny gem on my finger – it’s full of fire and shimmers as I move.

New Look dress, Primark long sleeved top, M&S tights, Primark cardigan, Primark brogues, vintage belt, pinkplectrum necklaces, bespoke handmade engagement ring!

I couldn’t be happier right now. I’m full of joy! Sending all my followers lots of love and happiness. Eeek!

Sail away with me

ASOS dress, Primark long sleeved tee, Primark cardigan, H&M tights, ASOS pixie boots, Links of London bracelets, handmade hair bow

Hello fabulous followers! Hope you’re all fine and dandy on this chilly Tuesday evening. I’m in such a great mood – it’s so nearly Christmas! How gosh darn exciting. I love the festive season because I go home with my brother and sister and act like a 15 year old again. Hooray!

Before I forget – there’s still a little time to become a follower of mine and enter my gorgeous giveaway. See the details here. You could win some sweet treats from pinkplectrum!

I’m rather pleased with today’s outfit. I think this silhouette really works for me. I have curvy hips and a little waist so need plenty of balance. This dress flares out at the hips and nips in at the waist, and the buttons down the middle really lengthen my shape. I have a few dresses in this shape, but even straight cut clothing can be transformed into a 50s delight with a cinched in belt.

What style do you think suits your shape?

PS – Have you noticed Little Bird is now on Twitter? You can have a nosy right here.

High fives and celebrations…

A Little Bird Told Me has reached 100 followers! Hooray!

Now, I know in the big bad world of blogging, that’s no great shakes. Some of the blogs I follow have 1,999 other followers. Hell, The Sartorialist has 10,000 and there’s no room for any more. But I started this purely as an outlet, a chance to write about fashion, document my style journey and create something that one day I’ll use as part of my portfolio. So to know that 100 people are interested in what I have to say makes me feel mushy inside.

I’ll be posting a giveaway tomorrow, so eyes peeled. For now, I’ve got to jump in the shower and get changed – tonight is Girls Christmas Outing!

Hope you all have a lovely Saturday night. Doing anything special?

Drape yourself over me

Gap draped jersey top, Primark long sleeved top, Gap jeans, thrifted cardigan, Primark boots, River Island scarf, vintage necklace, thrifted ring

And the details…

There’s something very decadent about draping. It has an air of ‘I don’t care’ about it. Like you could throw it on and it’d hang exactly how you wanted it to, because it wouldn’t dare do anything else.

I bought this Gap top (which is much more pink that the photos would suggest) a while ago but due to an unfortunate ‘double hanging’ incident, it had languished under a drab cardigan at the back of my wardrobe. A ‘what should I wear?!’ moment this morning led to a frantic uncovering of this draped delight.

Have you ever found any hidden treasures lurking undetected in your wardrobe?
